Keep in mind, another reason why it won't ever come to the 360 is that Sony and Quantic dream are in a 2nd party partnership right now. Sony probably is funding the entire development of Heavy Rain, along with paying for a brand new mocap studio at QD. The mocap studio will probably see a lot of use for SCEE developed games too.

I'd just like to add that developer opinions never guarantee exclusivity. The decision is more often in the hands of the publisher, and when the publisher decides whether or not to port the title, they're just going to compare the expected cost of porting with the expected increase in revenues.

I wonder if overweight pluviophiles will be taking offense to the title of this game and posting riotous blogs about it...

Everyone? This is the first new bit of news on it in months.

I have no idea what this game is about (hopefully it's not about casting roles for a movie :P) but it looks beautiful and that's pretty much all I need.

The trailer was basically a proof of concept that they can create life-like characters utilizing the PS3's power. Also, the trailer featured some amazing acting from the woman who played the girl in the trailer. So that's part of the reason why everyone is so excited to see what the final product is.

Well, if my Sherlock Holmes powers of deductions are keen and on point today, I would say the game is about. . .people/rain.

-Or-

A new next-gen Phoenix Wright mystery to solve a murderer, who's calling cards/murder weapon is origami cranes.

Stay tuned for more assumptions.

Definitely going to be about some killer who uses origami in some form during his murders.
They already said that the casting has nothing to do with the game's plot.
I'm guessing that the rain part is symbolism for a running theme throughout the story, considering how much emphasis they're putting on it.

The other reason why games are structured as story, action, story is that video games are now expected to take many hours to complete, more than any normal person would do in one sitting. So it is only natural to structure them episodically.

Even games back on the NES were story, action, story, and many of those games could be beaten in under a half hour.

Maybe that's why MGS4 was so good, it was porn-o-riffic in structure as well. Action, story, action, story, action, story story story story credits. Still loved it.

Personally I don't see why the analogy can't be extended to all entertainment. I mean just look at the Matrix: Revolutions. Now that was a terrible porno. I never beat Indigo Prophecy when I had it on my PC. Was a cool game but it managed to creep me out. That game was like a $60 acid trip.

lol @ Uncharted to porn analogy.

That was so random....

Maybe that's why MGS4 wasn't a perfect 10. All action the first half, all talk the 2nd half. =D

Wow after reading the comments, its just amazing how you fanboys are willing to hype and get excited when you barely know anything about the game :(

Anyways on topic played Indigo Prophecy and it was fun hopefully this game gets released on one platform and i already added to my PS3 checklist so hopefully I won't have to reconsider that.

I am very happy that Sony has followed Nintendo and pimped out thier 1st & 2nd party developers. One thing's for sure, Japanese companies really know about games. Now we have very strong, beefy and quality Sony development teams and it's startin' to really show. If u look at M$, they have gone a very different way and spent all their money on unloyal 3rd parties and now have almost no 1st games to show for the 360, not good for their future. With all these "must have" titles comming, it is going to be difficult for me to even get to my Wii or 360. About time Sony, keep em' commin' baby!

Obviously HanzoTheRazor you're a fanboy. The excuse 'M$ has no gamez for teh future' is dumb and lame and plus the majority of your comments are biased MS and wacking off Sony. Fanboys always say that yet when MS shows there 09 line up all these fanboys begin to look stupid. all thse supposed "must haves" are either generic or can be gotten on some other system. I don't have to explain any further do I?

I'm more concerned with the result than the platform. If niche devs get moneys to continue with grand concepts despite not having made monoliths of money in the past, then that's to Sony's credit. No gamer concerned with artistic content would malign or discredit any company for nurturing the likes of Fumito Ueda and David Cage.

I'm displeased with Sony for their CP schemes, wretched customer service and convoluted programming architecture, but it isn't necessary that I be a fanboy to give them props when merited. In the case of supporting Cage, the praise has been earned.

Whenever I see "the Origami Killer" I think it's a joke, like a play on "Halo Killer." Like "this game's so good, nobody's going to want to make origami anymore!"
How's that for a context effect!

Hmmm, my senses are telling me this game will inevitably be all about. . .making. . . origami shapes with the six axis controller.

The plot is to not kill yourself in the process of beating all 500 levels of difficulty ending with Kamiya Statoshi's Phoenix with a time limit!
