On first glance, I thought the picture was of Paul Walker... but then I remembered that Paul actually was in a good, watchable movie or two(RUNNING SCARED easily comes to mind).

If I had to pick a director for a GOD OF WAR movie, it would be Guillermo del Toro(had to spell-check that XD) or possibly even Zack Snyder -- depending on how WATCHMEN actually turns out. I like what I see thus far, but the execs could still step-in and mold it into crap.

Although I love Guillermo del Toro's work, I don't really think he would be the best director for the GoW film, and based on what has been shown of Ryu ga gotoku, I would say that Takashi Miike is the best man for the position of director

Actually, that's not a bad choice either. :] So long as we don't have to see ICHI THE KILLER style manjuicing over slaugher(LOL, other than that - it was a good flick) or that torture sequence from that one movie where the woman got needles jabbed underneath her finger nails(I forgot the title offhand, but even thinking about it has me shuddering).

I remember/found it now. The movie was IMPRINT.

I respect the guy's work, but damn if I don't flinch like a lil'bitch everytime I watch the majority of his movies. XD

Didn't Jaffe said that he wouldn't allow Uwe Boll to touch the GoW franchise, yet he hasn't done anything to stop Ratner? GODDAMN!

Directors just don't understand that video games are interactive movies.

Well what happens if the guy manage to pull out a damn good movie? What will you do then? Apologise I hope... This is way you should not hate until after you can see the final result, if it sucks then, go ahead and hate all you want. But before, nono...

Well, whether or no Ratner directs the God of War movie or not, it is going to suck. y'know..God of War *is* a video game and do believe that movies based on video games are like 0 for 50 in being good.

You guys are all crazy, X-men 3 was an awesome movie. I think Joystiq went a little crazy with this post. I don't think Ratner is bad at all.

Based on the Prince of Persia movie, I'm sure Brett will have the fine sense to cast, oh, I don't know, maybe Shia LeBouf as Kratos. Makes at least as much sense as the Jake Gyllenhall thing.

X-Men 3 made me ill and had my vote for biggest goof of the summer - the bit where they're crossing the bridge in broad, bright daylight and then suddenly it's a night scene. WTF.

I liked Rush Hour 1 and 2. Rush Hour 3...not as much. Not enough action and too much slapstick comedy. X3 wasn't "bad". To some degree you guys have to blame the script of X3, not the director.

I'm only semi defending the guy because, lets face it, there are hundreds of people involved in making a movie, and at least a good dozen involved in big decisions. Script writers, producers, executive producers (the money), the studio heads, actors (how they want to do a scene), etc.

None of ya know wat ya are talking about. X3 was better then X2. I've never seen money talks but if bret radner directed X3 then I can't wait to see how good he makes Gof Of War. Cause I am positive that he was the best choice to make.
