Just a matter of days after revealing that it will be patching various problems with the "open beta" of SSFIITDHR after all, Capcom has offered a second helping of fan service by extending the beta through September 5. The beta was originally slated to conclude on August 20.
The extra play time is clearly in response to the forthcoming patch, which the most recent post on Capcom's blog states is still "coming soon." A second, earlier post on the site details some of the fixes due in the patch, including the elimination of nasty crashes when joining matches and the removal of Ken's cheesy strong Dragon Punch "juggle" bug. We look forward to finally getting in some actual quality time with the beta soon.

at first I was upset on how long it's taking this game to come out. But then I realized how hyped I was to play the old school SFII on XBL against others online, and it was a laggy mess! Didn't touch it in forever. Fired it up last nite, did an update, and there was no one playing at all! Called up my friend and told him to join and we had a great lag-free match.
So if all this time is necessary for a bug free, lag free game at launch, I'm willing to wait.

Am I the only one who really doesn't care about this game or franchise?
Draken Stark @ Jul 25th 2008 5:02PM
no you're not. But for those who were there when the game came out and loved it will most likely never forsake it.

I hadn't been excited about Street Fighter since Street Fighter II Turbo came out on Super Nintendo back in the early/mid 90s. But lately, after seeing all these SFIV trailers and the marketing they're running on this game, I'm pumped for SF again in general. I've even been listening to the Street Fighter II Collector's Box soundtrack throughout the day for the past few weeks. I can't wait for this game to come out now. And then I know I'll find myself not being able to wait for SFIV to come out.

Capcom can take all the time they need so long as the final product is stellar.

Capcom is really lazy, how hard is to draw over the old frames of animation?

Please correct: not "SSFIITDHR", but "SSFIITHDR".
Too long acronym. :)
