Unlock the Uncharted Trophies beginning Aug. 22 ... or not [update]

[Update: Not so fast, turns out the information cited by TalkPlayStation.com was PS3 Fanboy's Andrew Yoon on the PlayStation Nation Podcast. At around 56 minutes in, Andrew simply reiterated what Naughty Dog's Evan Wells already told us: that the developer was targeting the "middle of next month" to add Trophy support to Uncharted. Additionally, a Naughty Dog rep told us that, while August 22nd very well may be the date, they wouldn't know ... it hasn't been chosen yet.]

TalkPlaystation.com has allegedly confirmed that Trophies will be added to Naughty Dog's Uncharted Drake's Fortune on August 22. Despite a form of "achievements" originally being part of Uncharted, we'd been told previously that the Trophies will not be retroactive, so prepare to play the adventure all over again.

Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells mentioned previously that adding the Trophy patch for the game was "incredibly easy" because of the medal system the company already implemented in the game. Now that's thinking ahead.

Sweet I wouldnt mind playing it again to get the trophies....the game is that good and worth it.

I gotta get my copy of the game back, I loved UNCHARTED... and the trophy thing is just a bonus(which was technically in the game already by treasure hunting, but whatever).

Amen to that, but I would like to have Jak 4 first.

It would be even better if Sony had added this to their "Greatest Hits" lineup.

People are still buying it. Why would they mark down the price so fast? I bet more poeple will buy it once trophies come too.

Yea if this was on greatest hits I would buy it in an instant. I just have a hard time dropping $60 for single player games unless they are through the roof (like some RPGs, MGS4, RE5, or Oblivion come to mind)

It is going to be released on the European platinum lineup, so it would make sense to have on the Greatest hits lineup too.

It's not up to Sony to give it "Greatest Hit's" status. That's up to Naughty Dog.

It is a great game though... I'll be playing through it again soon, trophies or no.

I was looking for a reason to go thorugh it again, but i didn't really feel like it. Now i definitely will :)

Uncharted was a thoroughly enjoyable game. i can take it for a third spin to acquire some trophies. hopefully Sony/Ubisoft/Konami adds trophies to both MGS4 and Assassin's Creed.

Woot! Can't wait to play it again. I've been dieing to replay it but I'm waiting for the trophies.

Shame I already traded my copy in to get MGS4, I would go back through it on a harder difficulty to pick up some trophies.

Actually, Sony always planned for the PS2 to have a hard drive. Way before anybody even knew about the Xbox (it was a rumor called 'project X').

The first PS2 model had a PCMIA port, which connected to an external HDD.

You DO realize that every single idea in the world spawned from something else which existed before, right?

Everything you just said was copied from what the PS2 was SUPPOSED to have HDD , Home etc .

ironic....I was thinking of replaying this game again. Guess I'll be playing it again after Aug. 22nd!! gives me a little more time to catch up on other games like MassEffect...
