Point your single oversized eyeball at this Resident Evil: Degeneration trailer
38
Comic Con 08 attendees were recently treated to a new, two-minute trailer for the upcoming CGI motion picture Resident Evil: Degeneration. The series' previous, lackluster live action installments enveloped our hard hearts in a thick shell of apprehension towards the new movie when it was first announced -- but after seeing it in action, consider said shell shucked. Not only does it look gorgeous, but it appears Leon and Claire will be voiced by Paul Mercier and Alyson Court, the two characters' voice actors from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Veronica, respectively.
It's also full of valuable Pro-Tips for those playing along at home! Shoot them in the head, eh? Thanks, Leon!

Looks like it'll be 200% better than the crappy live action ones.

At a minimum 200%. The movies should have been their own thing and not related to Resident Evil as the only common between them are names of characters.

As much as the first one was great and the others are not, I can't get enough of RE films. It must be either Milla Jovovich being in them or it being based on games, because I don't want many other action movies whatsoever.

13, actually. Hard to believe it all started out as a campy B-horror parody.

Can't wait and it looks like it should be a video game as well. The live action RE movies that were good were the first and the third, the second movie hella suck. Plus, RE2 was my favorite RE game and those two characters are my favorite from the series...

Looks interesting. Do we know if this is canon and if so, where it takes place in the timeline?

I believe this movie is before RE4 because RE4 takes place 10 years after raccoon city bombing and this movies takes place 7 years after.

The Resident Evil movies were not that bad ... Not Silent Hill bad ...
I wish this was a new game being released and not just a CG movie

Looks like we all know what happens if the movie is longer than four hours...

You mean BESIDES half of the audience having already left the theater? ;-P
Anyways, I SERIOUSLY hope that Capcom puts a disclaimer at the beginning that tells the audience the previous 3 RE movies aren't canon to the official timeline, since it's OBVIOUS that average moviegoers won't know that!
Better yet, they could put a series plot guide on the movie website for the people who haven't played the games!

No, I was just being sarcastic about the "Time limit:4 hours" text in the trailer. I don't care if the movie's going to be bad. I'll still sit trough it till the end cause it's going to be awesome if they're actually putting effort into the plot and fan service. Even if there's bad acting or w/e.

Not bad, not bad. I prefered the other trailer might just be the quality of the cam that's putting me off.
Will blatantly be a straight to DVD.

I don't think I'll ever be able to watch a CGI movie without just sitting there, waiting for it to cut to gameplay.
Regardless of what you think of MGS4 (and actually, plenty of other games this generation), they've made "mature" animated movies obsolete. Not that they were a big deal before.

I don't think I'll be able to watch a CG movie without instinctively
reaching for anything labeled "Start" and pounding it repeatedly (and
then getting up to make a sandwich when I realize it's not skipping).
"Regardless of what you think of MGS4..., they've made "mature"
animated movies obsolete."
Not true. "Pause", "Rewind", "Fast Forward", "$15 Price Tags", etc.
(Wow, those are expensive price tags!)
(-1 to myself for the bad joke.)
(And another for the bad "-1 to myself" joke.)
(And another for the meta-joke.)
(And another for rambling...)
And +1 to "Yourself" for using a name that made me have to double-check who I was replying to. "replying to Yourself [Undo]"

I'm predicting this will be similar to Advent Children in terms of quality.

Did anyone see Frank from Dead Rising? Or is it just me? Hmmmm

Just because Dead Rising is Capcom's other zombie franchise doesn't mean Frank's going to do anything more than cameos. Focus on zombie and tyrant action!
