@soulblade

Actually tried to compare his description of the fighting genre to that of the simplicity of the whole wii thing. I admit I failed on delivering the whole idea

-I Failed to my self.. -_-..

Actually, Danny, you just plain fail. You've brought shame and disgrace upon your family's name for generations to come.

"if you have no life and can dedicate 20 hours a day to learning combos"

Sounds like you have no experience with fighters outside of Tekken and/or Mortal Kombat

As opposed to spending 20 hours a day leveling up your WOW character? As opposed to spending 20 hours a day remember where weapons spawn on a level or collecting skulls for a slight variation in your spartan armor? As opposed to spending 20 hours a day trying to get a 100% on a expert level Guitar Hero/Rock Band song?

Fighting games are more about twitch reflexes and learning to adapt to each person you're fighting against... some people are more defensive... some people throw a lot... etc.

Uh, no. I think he means going outside for a change. Nice try though.

You know usually they'd wait to see if MK v DC was a hit before announcing this.

But any nextgen Marvel vs Capcom is good news in my books.

Why wait, when the last game they made sells for over 80 bucks on eBay? Marvel has more established characters in the public eye, being that the only good movies with DC characters are the two most recent Batman movies. In addition, the MK style is completely different, and appeals to a totally different audience. Whether or not MK vs DC does well, MvC3 would be one of the best selling games of this generation, and certainly at the top of the fighting heap.

FUCK YESSSSS!!!!

I hope so, and even though most probably wont like this idea but I want it on the SFIV engine. 3D with 2D gameplay. Sorry, I'm in love with SFIV and its not even out yet :P

I think it really is safe to say fighters are making a comeback what with all the consoles capable of online pwnage against your buddies now adays. YEEEEES, let it be true!!!!

What's wrong with you guys? The sound track from MvC2 was amazing. The ending song was also one of the best, right up there with the ending song of Alpha 3.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 HD Remix confirmed? Marvel vs Capcom 3 built on Street Fighter 4 foundation? Who do I have to hold hostage to make this happen?

Personally... I'm gonna say no thanks.
While the Marvel universe is full of amazing characters (still some who hadn't made their debut yet in any of Capcom's Vs. games)... MvsC2 just left a bad taste in my mouth.
I felt the game presentation was stale and generic (the stages and background music came from no specific franchise, and there were no unique endings or post-fight quips).
It was just chaos, especially with one or more of the cheaper characters in a match (here's looking at you, Cable).
Honestly? I liked MvsC a lot more than MvsC2.
I know many will disagree with me... but that's how I feel.

Plus, at this point, I'm much more interested in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom.

You're gonna get flamed but Gotchaman and I have your back.

And while you have points, everyone will ignore them having forgotten their precious MvC2 was littered with elevator music, huge yet not exactly diverse roster, and some of the world backgrounds in a modern fighting 2D fighting game. Not to mention an end boss that has no origins from, well, anything.

Also, I'm personally holding out for SNK vs. Dark Horse.

Maybe this is what was meant by the netrumor saying Tatsunoko Vs Capcom is going to be brought over here...they already have the 2.5D art and engine, just swap the hard-to-license anime chars for waiting-to-be-licensed Marvel characters. Voila!

Except Actiblizzard has the license for the Marvel Universe... meaning anything they do, they'll have to license the characters individually. More than likely, the only loophole, would be going after a team like Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D., or X-men.

I thought that the license for Ultimate Alliance etc. was different than the one for Marvel vs the Imperfects (over at EA). The latter just dissolved when the team was disbanded or something (read it on joystiq somewhere). I think it's a separate one for...fighting games? Doesn't sound right, but wouldn't surprise me.

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/29/ea-marvel-fighting-game-no-longer-in-development-partnership-di/ - Looks like Marvel partnered to develop the game, which should mean that they can use any of their characters (or maybe just those in that game..don't know any besides Iron man).

Given the existence of Marvel vs. Capcom, and MK vs. DC, doesn't this beg the questions, "How about Marvel vs. DC?" or (alert: fanboy's wet dream) "How about Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter?"
