$130 Gears of War 2 bundle to include Lancer [update 2]

Update 2: Sadly, no $130 GoW2 Lancer bundle exists, at least from Microsoft. Full details here.

Update: Just to clarify our remarks, we are not sure of the size or scale of the bundled Lancer. Pocket size or life size, your guess is as good as ours. For that matter, Microsoft still hasn't announced this third $130 GoW2 edition so we'll try to be as calm as possible until specifics make their way out.

On top of the linked achievement news coming from Comic-Con, a new Gears of War 2 edition was unofficially announced by the panel members. A new Halo 3 Legendary edition priced $130 Gears of War 2 bundle that is said to include a miniature replica model of a Lancer. Something we should have expected seeing that we caught word from our own source that a mini Lancer would grace some sort of Gears of War 2 edition. Microsoft has yet to confirm this $130 Gears 2 edition, what other content will be included or when it'll be available, but we expect news to trickle in soon. And just in case you were wondering, the answer is an emphatic "yes". A certain blogger will be plopping down his $130 come November.

I dont know if I will i did for Halo 3 LE and it was not worth it should have just gotted the SE cause the Master Cheif helmet on got with Halo 3 is pretty useless It it cost me $170 CND. I love Gears but i am only getting the SE of the game

That's an incredibly stupid comment. Don't want it? DON'T effing buy it. Simple as that. But if there is someone who DOES want it, they now have the option of getting it.

I think the same thing. Now if it was a life size replica, then I would buy it. I loved the MJOLNIR Helmet that came with Halo 3 because it wasn't cat sized. But I wouldn't if it was mini.

Uh just buy the regular edition then. Leave the collectors stuff for the real fans.

I talked to Cliffy at comic-con today and he showed me the lancer their talking about and it looks to be full sized, not a mini replica

for me, it's gotta be full size.

i'll probably get this on day one if its around £70 in the UK - otherwise i'll have to wait for the price to drop to show off my Gears fanboyism.

This isn't another bundle for the game, it's $130 for the Lancer which IS NOT included with the Gears 2 disk. It was all just a misinterperuting of what Cliff said.

Thats good, cause a bundle would be dumb. Remember halo 3 legendary edition? I mean you can STILL find them in stores for like $50. I feel sorry for everyone who got conned into buying one at launch for $150 or whatever it was. You cant really call an edition of something "limited" when you make 1 million + copies of it. I would consider like 10 000 copies made only, each numbered, to be a limited edition.

And even then I wouldnt buy it. Ive got better stuff to spend my money on then useless collectables. Ill stick with GOW2, regular edition.

Even if the game disc itself retailed for $130 I would buy it, so if this is in a bundle it would be a no-brainer for me. I should probably throw some money at EPIC, seeing as how I got thousands of hours (and counting) of enjoyment out of a meager 60 bucks the first go-round.

If it's $130 for the lancer itself with no game bundle I'd have to think about it, with my hatred for the lancer and all. A torque bow or HoD would be sweeeeeeet though.

I'd rather get that limited edition Gears of War 2 Xbox 360.Now that would be a great addition to my collection.

Since I am on a limited budget, I would rather buy 2 games than this package. Unless the lancer actually worked as a chainsaw (unlikely) then it is nothing more than something to get stuck under the couch and thrown out when I move. Gears 2 will be good even without the extra junk. They are either trying to make more money (most likely) or trying to increase the hype. Either way, I shall pass. GTA 4 however, was the best special edition ever. The lock box rocks. And the duffle. Sweet.

As it stands, I have 13 must-have 360 games this year which total a freaking $780. I can't add in another $70 just to get the rifle.

I live in the UK and I don't care how much this costs, it must be owned!!!!

Since I ended up paying $60 for Halo 3 Legendary, I certainly wouldn't JUMP on any GOW2 Legendary...

If its anything like the Halo 3 $130 edition, you'll be able to get them a year later for about $50.

the $130 lancer is an electronic replica sold by amazon its not a bundle, do research before claiming things.

there is only two options for gears the 59.99 version or the 69.99 collectors edition

Cliff has referred to the awesome electronic 1:1 scale Lancer rifle from Neca which will be available via Amazon.com at $130 (you can see it in the pic that I posted here). In his excitement, Cliff included Limited Edition Gears 2 game with the Lancer. People are misinterpreting that as a $130 bundle (Lancer & game which would be ridiculous). I spoke to Randy Falk (Head of product design at Neca) earlier during the week & it's $130 for the Lancer rifle by itself.

the guys at the NECA booth said that there was a $130 GoW2 bundle with the rifle, and a (game cost)+$20 bundle with the headshotted locust figure and cog tags. he also said that they were both Amazon exclusives.

i love g0w the only prob is that i got the game in 07 when it came out in 06 because thats when i got my 360 i can consider mydelf and uber fan tho. but seing as i want the air jordan fusion 12 playoff edition my mom said if i can put down a certain amount of money with it i can get it so its either ajf 12 + saints row 2 se and g0w 2 se.. OR sr2 se +g0w 2 lancer edition so its a dilemma however, i will be getting g0w 2 no matter what even if i have to sell my leg!

how good would it be if the lancer has a built in controller to the actual gun for example the trigger could be RT and to aim you just put the but of the gun against your shoulder so that it looks like you are aiming with a real gun and to activate meale there could be a B in the chainsaw grip that you just press and so on wit the other buttons and that if microsoft buys the nitendo WEE it could use the sensors to aim the gun arround the screen and moove the camera. to moove forward or rodierun youcould have pads in your foot so to moove you just press on it this is just the general idea. Now this is what i call SPECIAL EDITION OF THE TRUE GEARS OF WAR!! gears cuote "s**t yeah" thats what i am talking about. i hope Microsoft pays me for this s**t.

F*cking microsoft always overcharging us ,even if you get the regular edition it will be around 64.oo with tax i remember regular xbox games for 40.00 what has happend and dont give me nextgen ,cost more bullsh*t
