Rumor: Target selling 60GB Xbox 360 'Pro' early

Someone obviously didn't get the memo. Joystiq tipster Vincent sent along a photo snapped at his local Target and ... what's that? The new Xbox 360 SKU that's not supposed to be on sale until "early August?" Sure looks like it. This wouldn't be the first time the retailer has broken the street date on new Microsoft hardware. Remember the 360 Elite slip? We've seen similar reports cropping up this evening, including this one on Penny College (via Engadget). Have you spotted MS's latest console repackaging at Target (or anywhere else)? Let us know in the comments!

I wouldn't be surprised if this rumor is true. I remember going to target a week before MGS4 came out and running to the bank to get more cash in order to buy one of the many copies they had in the case. Thanks Target :)

I had read so many horror stories of the RROD and was afraid of buying a 360 and yet my PS3 broke down, I'm hearing many stories of it breaking down and no more problems with the 360.

My Falcon 360 is perfectly fine, even running for a while in a closed cabinet.

Now I have worries of buying a PS3 again and will wait until a new SKU is released, my first PS2s also had DRE and my slim PS2 is perfect.

As a person who's never had a RROD,I can assure you that knowing every type of motherboard(Zephyr,Falcon) and it's RROD rates is a clusterfuck.You just don't give a crap about it unless it happens to your console.So MAYBE that guy was confused about it because he didn't own a 360 and heard you "RRODers" talking about a RROD-free one in the past.MAYBE he was curious about this new SKU and wanted to KNOW if it's a RROD free SKU.

This is Vincent, and yes Tmontana its real, i snapped that pic at Target yesterday. The 60GB was next to 20GB and was being sold for he same price so a employee probably brought it out accidentally.These 60s are coming out any day now though, so its not that big of a deal

I saw one in a case here in Cleveland today, actually. I didn't think anything of it, though, because I thought they were already on sale.
They had an arcade, too. Temptation overcame me and I briefly considered picking one up until I remembered that I have no money and am currently broke, anyway.

samfish i think you should save your cash and get the new 80gb ps3 with ds3 controller. just generally because I want to see your princess peach fetish level. With my serious hat on tho, you buy a ps3 for LBP (which I remember your affection for) and I will buy a wii for Madworld~!

dont forget the seriously great PSN titles like FLOWER and FAT princess coming out , along with some mystical and magical level that some BBC reporter guy saw.

I just saw one at the Bedford, OH store yesterday. The price is $299.99 and the date of manufacture is July 18, 2008.

I have the same question and I don't think the question is stupid because the rumor about jasper in august have been out for months and maybe the 60 GB version includes jasper.

I think that at this point no body knows. I want to buy a 360 but just ONE not 2 or 3...
