...damn. And I defended these animations a week ago. Superman's walk made me want to throw up.

And it looks like the punches are all haymakers, all the time. Do their elbows only articulate 20°?

I will say I enjoyed his demonstration of stringing Scorpion's moves together, which culminated with a harpoon pull followed by a kick to the nuts. Not exactly a huge combo, but I can see how it would be devastating.

Not just scorpion, looks like batman can do it too!
And the flash has that same move that Kabal had! To me, it looks like they just selected all the DC characters that had moves that were kinda like other MK characters, and just sorta made them look a little different. I was excited about this game for a little while, but after seeing this, the gameplay looks really dumb.

Lol at the comment about Superman trying to fix his wedgie with nobody noticing, that's exactly what I was thinking. Actually, looks like everyone is doing that.

Maybe you can customize moves in this game or something? Did you see Sonya doing Liu Kang's bicycle kick, and the aforementioned ankle trick with both Batman and Scorpion?

Will Close Combat (Kombat?) be easy to abuse? It seems like a feature that may hinder game play.

I couldn't care less if they ignored Heath Ledger's performance, I just wanted to see how they handled my favorite character from DC comics.

@Jakka

Whatever dude Heath Ledgers role as the Joker was the best villain in movie history. The line between character and actor was extremely blurred. He deserves some awards for that performance (RIP HL). I have always liked comics and Batman and I can say that Joker performance sent chills down my spine. One of my favorite movies now. I have seen it twice already. I think I will watch it again right now actually!!! (watch-movies dawt net)

It's useless to introduce more "combat mechanics" if you can't fix the horribly static ones you already have in place.

Yup MK II was the last good MK game. Hell one of only two good ones the other being the original MK.

The only other great fighters IMO (in the arcade era) were Primal Rage, Killer Instinct & Samurai Showdown. There might be one or two I am forgetting at the moment.

This game looks so fucking stupid. They should make the game more like Mortal Kombat II with the strictly 2-D more realistic graphics than this crap. I always wanted a fighting game like MK II except with all of the classic horror movie villains. Imagine a fighting game that was very dark and gruesome, realistic graphics, 2-D fighting with the likes of Predator, ALiens, Michael Myers, Jason, Hell raiser (pinhead), dark man, phantasm, dracula, frankenstein, mummy, werewolf, the saw guy (maybe as a boss), freddy kruger, candyman, zombies, leather face, terminator, pumpkin head and whomever else fits with the game.

I know it will not happen because the villains span many different movie studious but A guy can dream. I would the game like a Saw type of movie with the guy from Saw being the final boss and maybe have the "story" of the game following his exploits. For all I care they could also throw in heroes from classic horror type movies as well. I would prefer only villains so it would keep a dark tone and be very violet and graphic. I want some realistic graphics and violence in a traditional 2-D flavor.

I'll be the second signature on the petition for that one...count me in. And count me out of this horrific MKvsDC game...this thing would have looked stellar on the PS2, but right now it just looks horrible. Hopefully this won't make too big of a smear on the face of DC Comics.

First of all, the game isn't finished yet. C'mon, people. You KNOW it takes time to get things right in games. It's not going to be near perfect until it goes gold. That said, I STILL don't get why they're making this game...and I'm still intrigued if only to see what a mess this turns out to be. A wonderful, ridiculous, fanfictional mess.

Every time a new MK comes out, I keep expecting they changed things, and I'm always wrong. You think they'd take a page from Soul Calibur or Dead or Alive and have some actual gameplay in there, not just spamming the jump kick. It's not all bad; costume damage, free fall fighting, close combat, and arena damage all look pretty slick. But really, can't they update the formula a bit? Is it that hard? Flash looks like the only character whose move list isn't comprised of knock-back hits and uppercuts. Seriously, there's no room for combos in this game. You just puch them, and they fall down. Maybe you laser them as they fall, but that's it.

Take the $60 it'll cost you and find a copy of Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Everybody hating on this game needs to fall back think again. Next gen or not, this is Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat gameplay is not supposed to be smooth or flowing like Soul Caliber. It's hard hitting, staccato style has been a signature of the game since the motion capture days.

This game looks awesome. This might be the first game I get on 360 AND PS3.
