Yoda as DLC for Soulcalibur IV, says Korean PlayStation site

Over the weekend, a video of Darth Vader and Yoda fighting each other in Soulcalibur IV was leaked onto the internet (and then it was subsequently pulled). Currently, Darth Vader lives only on the PS3 version, while Yoda lives only on the Xbox 360 version. Could Namco Bandai be planning DLC which unlocks the famed Star Wars characters in both versions? It would make a lot of sense, wouldn't it?

According to the Korean PlayStation site, Yoda will be available for download from the PSN. That sounds like DLC to us. While Namco Bandai hasn't confirmed anything yet, we wouldn't be surprised if Yoda (and who knows what other characters) ended up appearing in Soulcalibur IV.

I don't know, I think that geting Yoda would be great. I mean we all know that he has different fighting techneques than Vader.

I've finished the game on hard as Yoda and I have to say, while I thought it was going to feel as terrible as Gon did in Tekken, this was not the case at all.

Yoda is fast, strong and easy to use. I hear Darth Vader is a little slow, but I don't care. I'll still download him.

I only wish we could trade those lame animé characters for Star Wars Jedi's. Darth Maul, or even Obi-Wan would have been cool.

Naw, that's just your upper lip. The Kratos rumor was debunked a couple weeks ago.

I think it's unlikely given that Kratos is Playstaion exclusive. He could thus only be for the PS3. Just a thought, might be wrong.

What about Soul Caliber 2 or 3 (I can't remember) in which the Gamecube version had Link as a playable character. I'd say that Kratos is possible for the PS3 version.

I've never been a fan of Soul Calibur, never really played much of any of the games though either...but this would be a deciding factor for me. I'm axiously awaiting Tekken 6 and with no other fighting games out really, this would be fun but I have no connection to the characters. If they had more SW guys then I'd most likely buy it!

Something tells me this will turn into a Star Wars lightsaber game, with the other characters becoming nothing more then Bantha Fodder.

both characters suck. but hey, Darth should be next to his Apprentice anyway right?

Hopefully they keep the updated char. roster coming on a regular basis, but keep it to reasonable roster and price.

I really don't want to see fighters coming from completely different genres... I don't want to be playing as Nightmare fighting against Jak and Daxter....

Well, if you really want to get into it, I don't particularly like the Jedi way of life. Not that I've ever given it that much thought, but if I were ever to be given the choice of which path I'd train on, the Dark Side always seemed more palatable to me. Give me Sith Lords. If you're going to give me a muppet, you might as well make it Kermit.

£5 says they're Pulling a 'Beautiful Katamari' and it's already on the disc.

This is awsome! I'm glad this is starting to leak out. Becuase it's down to have to have a 360 if your a Yoda fan. This makes me want to buy Soul Caliber 4 now. If Yoda does pop up as DLC and Vader for 360 then gamers finally don't have to comproise for a multi-platform game.

I don't mind paying since the 360 people have to pay the same price therefore it's equal like Rock Band DLC. Win win overall.

It would be nice if Yoda was already in there as an unlockable character.

On a side note, I hope that's not Darth Vadar's standard light saber wielding pose. My wife would ban the game from our living room.... or would she? 8)

It's funny how the starwars characters get the most attention. Why didn't they just make a starwars fighting game? Seems like the actual soul caliber characters are of the least interest lol

Agree. The Star Wars chars are the only thing people are talking about related to this game. Although it's a nice bonus, it's taking away all the power of the SoulCalibur brand.
