From our hands-on experience with Grimm's first couple episodes, it's definitely worth taking the title out for a spin. Each episode only requires about a half hour to go through and, if you know how to keep an appointment, it'll be possible to play each one for free.
A Grimm first trailer

American McGee's Grimm begins its 24-episode adventure on GameTap this Thursday, July 31, with A Boy Learns What Fear Is. The first trailer was recently released from its Disney-esque sugary confines and can be found after the break.

Is this game a Gametap exclusive? I sure hope not... I'm not getting roped into that garbage.

They say "only on Gametap" at the end of the video.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of subscribing to ANYTHING that automatically takes money from me each month. I'll do magazines 'cause they're cheap, the lump sum is up front, and they will automatically stop sending. But screw everything else except for PG&E and the internets.

this will be the game that finally convinces me to buy a gametap account.. they've got a lot of awesome games, and I almost got an account when they picked up the Metal Slug series.
I just won't be able to resist anymore heh

You can sign up for free. It is a seperate option to get the pay for options.
I did it a few months ago so I would be able to get this Grimm on the day it came out for free. Not a single charge in any of my accounts... and I don't remember giving them that info...

American McGee... Such an awesome name put in front of 2 bad games. Bad Day LA and Scrapland.
In before Alice. I never said Alice was bad. ;)

I associate the name only with Alice, so hearing "American McGee" only tickles my fancy and makes me feel all giggly inside.

Yeah, what a genius, taking that light upbeat comedy "Alice in Wonderland" and making something DARK from it. Merkin McGoo is my hero!

What do people have against Scrapland? That was a pretty good game.

You do not have to subscribe to play if you get it in the first 24 hours, all it takes is a download. If you can't find thirty minutes to spare once a week for a few weeks, you don't deserve to play the game for free anyway.

Its 60 bucks for a year and every episode is FREE on launch day for 24 hours. How the hell can you complain about a deal like that?

I think I'd rather just pay $30-40 up front and have the entire game on a DVD to play whenever.

Hey, I'm not saying anything bad about Gametap. I just don't like stuff I have to sign up for or subscribe to. It doesn't sound like a BAD deal or anything, I just don't want another bill to worry about.

What exactly did American McGee do that any game he makes should be prefaced with his name?
