No compromise with working, full-size NES belt buckle
Watch! as it's worn into a home electronics store and ... connected to a TV. Marvel! as its model plays Super Mario Bros. using the connected controller (but where's the power supply, and do we even want to know?). Visit! the site where you can actually buy one of your very own – for the low, low price of $300 – and be the envy of ... no one.

They should put it into an NES cart.
EshuElegbara @ Jul 29th 2008 3:14AM
... ZOMG. I think that says it all. Epic win.
Chase @ Jul 29th 2008 3:32AM
Considering the description reads "comes with power adapter", and the person attached to the belt buckle, I think it's safe to say you're going to need an AC socket.
Nutchos @ Jul 29th 2008 3:50AM
Wow super mario really looks good on widescreen HDTV.
Saria the Cat @ Jul 29th 2008 3:52AM
Looks like the NES is supposed to compensate for something. /lame_joke

Lack of a Hummer H3?
borland502 (SDF Macross) @ Jul 29th 2008 8:52AM
Honestly, if someone has the balls to wear that thing without any hint of shame...I suppose he isn't compensating for anything but a lack of style.

Okay, I lol'd.
That's just so damn ridiculous, it's awesome.
L4Flare @ Jul 29th 2008 5:04AM
YES! No more lugging around my Gameboy Advance SP with Super Mario Bro's, taking up precious pocket space!
Rob Accomando @ Jul 29th 2008 6:40AM
That's funny.
I have NES on more electronic devices that I know what to do with though. hahaha
JAH75157 @ Jul 29th 2008 6:57AM
it's going to make for some awkward situations when you got to have someone blow the dust out the console to make the game work.
DeaconGTG @ Jul 29th 2008 8:23AM
Or the best pickup line EVER.
ButtersParker @ Jul 29th 2008 7:23AM
I would assume it'd be difficult to sit down with that thing on.
Maverick Saturn @ Jul 29th 2008 8:48AM
Looks like a right nerd, lol
rDr4g0n @ Jul 29th 2008 8:52AM
He knew about the 1up right? He just chose not to get it... I mean... I dunno what I'd do with myself if he didn't know. I think I'd lose all faith in gaming and humanity.
MikeO. @ Jul 29th 2008 8:19PM
Haha! I was embarassed at myself for thinking the same thing. I was thinking, "Dude, get the 1UP! What are you thinking!? You just passed up the flower!"
pat1202003 @ Jul 29th 2008 9:00AM
IMO I would have used the slim NES instead of the phat one.
Cody Turner @ Jul 29th 2008 9:16AM
Totally cool belt, but who misses the hidden 1UP mushroom after the fourth pipe?
mackid105 @ Jul 29th 2008 10:48AM
this story is like a week and a half old. come on joystiq step it up! I do love how he got thrown out. what a guy can test what his games will look like on a TV before buying these days?
WhatIsThatThing @ Jul 29th 2008 12:22PM
COME ON, STEP IT UP
YOU'RE TOO SLOW
Wiinterfang @ Jul 29th 2008 11:19AM
That's just stupid, nothing more and nothing less.
Kev @ Jul 29th 2008 1:07PM
I'm seeing a NES modded into a NES controller. The controller would then play the games. And *that* would be modded into a belt buckle. Power cord and audio/video cable hidden underneath the belt itself (or artfully woven into the belt somehow). Then you could truly be Captain N.

RE4 had a formula that worked really well and it should be no surprise that a lot of the dynamics will be recycled.
Levi @ Jul 29th 2008 3:41PM
Seriously, nobody should be bitching about this. RE4 was a step in the right direction for the series, and I'm glad it's carrying on the the sequels.
Bibbly53 @ Jul 29th 2008 4:14PM
The belts are tacky and the site you may purchase them from has a poor selection of merchandise. They need to up their game.
Also, I liked RE4 and I'm looking forward to RE5 and I think people can do and say whatever the hell they feel like. Otherwise people like me wouldn't read statements like yours replying to the mistaken glitch posts of folks like myself.

Was expecting an NES carved and modded into a slim, belt buckle form factor. Hell, you could emulate it on a mac mini that's a quarter of the size. F for effort.
hoagie @ Jul 29th 2008 2:42PM
I thought it was an actual system tucked into a buckle all nice and neat.... not an NES slapped on a belt.. WTF?
Lotta potential there, something compact first off, there are plenty of solutions in that regard... and maybe something battery powered with retractable audio video cables that loop around inside the belt itself... and a wireless NES controller (they exist) that clips on the side of the belt... complete with a wireless zapper on the other side! See? All you need for a potential good idea is thought... not a useless visit to the nearest Best Buy with an NES hanging above your genitals.
Bibbly53 @ Jul 29th 2008 4:17PM
A hacked-out gameboy micro buckle would make sense. But our expectations for slim pickings...
Levi @ Jul 29th 2008 8:34PM
WHat glitch?
JohnHeist @ Jul 30th 2008 1:11AM
$300?
Step 1: Attach NES to belt
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Profit

That is pretty hot, it's like a geek parade that you might think the geek is in thiese days. I flaunt my NES buckle on a daily basis when even finding a cheaper version of the real controller buckle http://www.hotbuckles.com/nintendo-belt-buckles-c-62_66_118.html
