Rumor: Yoda could come to PS3 Soul Calibur IV through DLC

First we caught wind that Vader might be making his way to 360. Now, our friends at Siliconera have discovered a blurb from Sony Computer Entertainment Korea, which wrote, "you can make a dream come true with Darth Vader vs. Yoda and My Character vs. Apprentice fights through available downloads." Possible typo? Maybe. But after Friday's story that's looking less and less likely.

People have known this for months now...at least on the interwebs...
Which is why this whole ps3 vs 360 version argument was pointless and stupid. Darth may be a more "cooler" character for the extremely extreme hardcore ps3 group but there was no doubt in my mind that he'd be downloadable for the 360 and vice versa for Yoda on the ps3.

What would be a much better surprise is if cross-platform gameplay was implemented, that would be a better reason to have Yoda and Darth Vader in the games

So instead of just saying "Duh, I knew that," let's logically consider whether this is possible.
Every time you boot up SCIV, it checks for DLC, so we know for certain that there will be SOMETHING to download. Not only that, after unlocking all the characters in the PS3 version, there is a blank in the character select screen between Vader and Starkiller. Can someone with the 360 version confirm whether their corresponding blank is in the top left corner where Vader is in the PS3 version (in other words, is Yoda in the top row, second from the left)? My thinking is that if Vader and Yoda were truly exclusive, they'd occupy the same space, whereas if they were going to be available as DLC, they would each have their own space, with a blank currently representing the other to-be-downloaded character.
So if Vader and Yoda will indeed be available as DLC, the next question is, who else will be available? Namco wouldn't implement some DLC system that checks for content EVERY TIME you boot up the game if there was just going to be one character to download. Kratos? Master Chief?

Well, mainly DLC like this where they are nickle-and-diming you for what's already included on the disc or easily added. DLC for music in Rock Band etc. is fine.

The top row of the SC4 character select screen on my PS3 version has Vader, the Apprentice, a blank slot, and a multiple-select box for the various manga characters, and I have all the characters unlocked.
Yeah, you think they're going to put Yoda in there? Just maybe? When they designed the freaking character select screen to have all three star wars characters in it?

What would be cool is if you could give a lightsaber to other characters. I don't really care about Yoda. I'm too busy making good looking custom characters from the Taki model.
The only thing that really sucks about Soul Caliber IV is the return of gamepad thumb. The analog stick just doesn't work as well as the D-pad.
