Yeah man I agree completely. Thats only like what 13 cents a day. Not a big deal at all.

And i'm sure ps3 owners are ok with spending that extra $50 on a game or dlc each year.

But yeah, i see your point.. people shouldnt be allowed to play what they have paid for..it should be a privilege to get full access to a game you've bought, not a right! If they want to get the full contents of their games that they are charged for at the same price as the competition then they should be charged extra..and like you said, $50 is nothing... only its $80 here in the uk btw.

Thankfully the 360's not like the pc where theirs was an alternative in playing your games online for free.. thankfully microsoft dont allow us that choice.

First of all that is true monkeywithnoeyes, second of all $80 is rough man sorry to hear that. Anyway I don't think PS3's service is going to be free for much longer considering the huge debt Sony is in, and keeping a game like MAG and their Home service up to date at a constant pace won't be cheap.

Yes. Because Playstation 3 is the sole market Sony has to make up for any losses in the platform. It's not like it has a huge last-gen platform that's still going strong, a portable platform that is doing very well, an electronics brand that is bleeding edge in many areas, music and film divisions the revenues of which don't even *BEGIN* to touch the amounts of money they'd make if they started charging for PSN use.

Really man all that and they are still in that much debt? I guess they just suck then. I guess that is why Sony can only talk about their precious PSP and PS2 cuz besides God of War 3 nothing in that E3 press conference swayed me towards buying a PS3. But I guess that makes sense when your last platform is going so strong milk it for all its worth and worry about the people who bought your glorifed 500 dollar Blu-Ray player later when everyone has them and hold them off until then with lame games. Lame games that have to be spread out so every game gets its fair chance of making money. God forbid someone has to choose between Resistance 2 and Killzone 2. Thats cool and all but I think I'll be good with the new dashboard. Too Human in August. Rock Band 2 in September. Fable 2 in October. Gears motherfucking 2 and Left 4 Dead in November. Including a ton of multiplatform games as good or better than the PS3 versions.

I sound like a hater. I'm not trying to hate man. I'm just saying Sony doing well in all those other markets only hurts the PS3's potential. I'm a big fan of the PS2 easily one of the greatest consoles. But honestly the PS3 hasn't reeled me in like it did.

dude, your comment is so lazy that it shouldnt even get a reply, seeing as most games you will buy, and have already in your collection, are multiplatform games..then i'm pretty sure both you and i can name one game on the ps3 thats worth $50 beyond mgs4.

The $80 a year for xbox live wouldnt be so bad if the p2p system didnt favour americans alone. Microsoft could easily enforce an option regional filter to all games hitting the 360.. instead come 5pm here in the uk ALL games will be dominated by american hosts..leaving us who had enjoyed lag free games till then now facing games of less gaming quality. Not only is that less quality in terms of connection speeds..but also in terms of community. Because lets face it, most online games result in racial bashing between brits and americans. A regional filer would solve all this..so whats the harm in one being optional? its not like developers dont place one in for every pc game that hits. If only Microsoft would take notice of countrys outside of America and japan. Its all the more insulting that they charge us TWICE as much for this pleasure.

I think the objective of xbox live gold is to play with your friends when they're not around to split screen.

It's for adults that don't have their friends live next door.

It isn't a cross platform title, i.e. XBL users cannot play GFWL users on Gears so it's not free.

no. gears is multiplatform but its not cross platform, pc and 360 players cannot compete across XBL..
