The character creation tools of Soulcalibur IV look to be rather robust. Kotaku's CB has created facsimiles of our favorite Metal Gear Solid characters, Snake and Raiden, using the in-game system. While not 100% spot-on, these renders do add a distinct Metal Gear flair to the classic fighter. Seeing these two fighting on the Death Star with Soulcalibur weapons ... well, that's the kind of stuff fanfics are made of.

I hope someone makes Kaz Hirai and J Allard characters. I would love to see them fight it out. A Phil Harrison and Peter Moore fight would be more interesting but since they both moved on I guess i'll settle for seeing Kaz Karate chopping J. But for the record Phil Harrison would beat Peter Moore to a bloody pulp.

I'm more interested in making myself and then making Andrew Yoon. Oh yes, the day of reckoning is upon us. One shall stand and one shall fall!

If you can make a working Laughing Octopus in this game, I'm all set.

Come on, they look nothing like Snake and Raiden. I have see this go round the gaming site and beside they both wear black and one is blonde and the other has dark hair, moustache with a hachimaki, they could be any generic manga character

Raiden would look more realistic if he was naked...

So does anyone know if the character mods work online? If so we got us quite a neat little fighting game on our hands here!

How about some video?
On a related note, now that I am a MGS fan, I would love to see these two infiltrate the Death Star. Maybe the next generation of stealth games can skip the Kojima and Tom Clancy stuff and go sci-fi/cyber-punk, but retain the MGS style gameplay...

Game is actually bad. Just bought it and the controls aren't the same and it feels slowed down...

Don't know about all that. I think the controls are just fine, and the speed is normal. In fact, I feel it's more like SCII (the best version IMHO). Though I am a little disappointed in that I expected better graphics for a PS3 game. I much prefer less detailed costumes (less polygons... who needs to see every strand of lace, etc...) for smoother dithering and animation.
Though, all in all, it's still an awesomely fun game. (More so against humans) . The fact you can play customized characters online is very cool. And while the Star Wars characters are indeed a gimmick, it's pretty awesome the 1st few times you pull some 'force' moves on someone.
