In an interview with Official Xbox Magazine UK, Valve's Doug Lombardi revealed that the company will "certainly consider" bringing some of its older titles to Xbox Live Arcade. With Valve already bringing Portal: Still Alive to XBLA, it would certainly make sense for Valve to look at placing its older titles on XBLA. Lombardi seems to agree, noting, "We'll certainly consider it. If you look at what we've done on Steam, we try to make all our games available and we're always reviewing the prices to keep them current." He added that Valve would "love" to bring it's older titles to XBLA but that "Portal: Still Alive is our first step at doing that beyond the PC." Lombardi also reiterates Valve's current strategy of working with the PC and 360 saying, "Right now, Valve's doing PC and 360 stuff, so anything we would iterate on would be on Xbox. We don't have any immediate plans to do this on PS3 or Nintendo."
Can anyone say Counter-Strike?

I'd love to see Red Orchestra come to Xbox 360, though I don't think it would be as fun since you'd have to lose some of the controls.

Counter-Strike.
I hope they bring the source version and not the old version. If Portal on arcade will have the same quality as the retail version then there is no reason that counter-strike should be dumbed down either.

That pic is of Source, but they say older titles. I highly doubt Source would ever come to Arcade, however 1.6 is highly likely.

I think it would be rubbish if they brought counter strike to the xbox cos I (like many)would never leave the house, and my hands would probably fuse to the controller as skin grows around it after months of never putting the controls down...this will ruin peoples lives

Oh, you mean this game:
http://www.ebgames.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=21590
i thoroughly enjoyed it, but it shows it's age on the 360. They should update it with higher res skins and release it on XBLA, somehow create support for things like gungame or 3rd party maps maybe?

I would actually LOVE IT if Valve would start aiming for feature parity on TF2 between the PC and Xbox360 versions. When are those new weapons and achievements coming to XBL, guys? It's like they completely abandoned TF2 on Xbox. Thanks for nothing. I'll keep this in mind for future Valve releases and avoid them altogether.

Yea, I will not play another valve game until my TF2 gets some love. *sarcasm*
Even when the new achievements and content is added to the 360 TF2, it will most likely cost 800 MS points or so. There is probably a weird hold up with the content from MS. I'm sure if valve had it's way, they would release the content for free right now on the 360.
Maybe you should just buy the PC version because the new weapons are awesome.

I'm not going to buy the game twice, but my point is that they handled the 360 version like a red-headed stepchild. It's pretty crappy support, and I kind of doubt it's all Microsoft's fault. Valve has been dragging their feet since Orange Box was released.

I'll only accept counter-strike source if they leave in surf maps.

I think most of you are confusing Valve games with Steam games (Audiosurf and Red Orchestra are not made by Valve). I would love to see the first Half-Life and it's expansions. As long as they don't sell games that they then also put out on disc. I'm kind of disappointed that Portal: Still Alive will also include Portal which was in The Orange Box. That means I will have paid for Portal twice.

eh...no it did not fail: the game is still in Xbox(1) Live top 10/top 5 every week (see Major Nelson website).
I loved the xbox version (dont like to play on pc with mouse/keyb, I'm a consolegamer) and would like to see it ported properly to XBLA/XboxOriginals. The game itself is backwardcompatible right now, only talking to each other and HD upscaling* does not go very well in backwcomp mode.
And I would like them change the control speed setup (now if you want your control setup fast, you need to click the analog sticks, hold em and move ingame which does not work imo, so please give us sensitivity bar like every other FPS instead).
Btw: the game was developed/ported over by Turtle Rock Studios, you know the dev that got purchased couple o months ago by its publisher Valve because of their new game Left 4 Dead looking mighty good (fun).
*: when you play CS for xbox(1) on your 360 in backwcomp mode, you only get 4:3 image when you have 720p/1080i/1080p x360 setup. Only when you change your x360 setup to 480i/p you get normal 16:9 image....which is a bit of a hassle to do every time you want to play CS and have a HD tv.

ME TOO!
D/Led them off Steam the other day. Turns out you can enter your HL keys and get all of the original HL and its expansions FREE. Or kind of. I mean, I had Opposing Forces ready to go in the disc tray regardless. But I had never played Blue Shift.

I may be imagining this, but wasn't Counter Strike released for the original Xbox? And it's now backwards compatible?
No, wait, I'm not imagining it, I'm playing it now.
So, my question is: Why would you want something for $10 off XBLA when you could get the same thing in a nice shiny case (well, mine is) for $0.99?
