Embedded after the break is 316 seconds of in-game footage from DICE's Mirror's Edge that was demoed during E3. And while this isn't super new news, this is the first time we had a chance to view Faith's impressive five minute adventure and we figured we'd share it with those who haven't had a chance to view it either. There's plenty of jumping, sliding, enemy kicking and color coded obstacles to take in, so make your way to the break and complete your Mirror's Edge video viewing. If you don't watch the footage then Faith will be sad. You don't want to make Faith sad, now ... do you?
lol, Ive seen this video WAAAY too many times now. Im so stoked about this game, especially since I do real parkour, and this game seems to grasp its feeling rather well. :)
So that was basically just going through that trailer from a couple months slowly. But it does look better and explains it a bit more. I like it, I'm getting bored with every game being basically 'kill these bad guys'. Release date is...?
whoever who hired those guards should shoot themselves in the head... missing a shot at point blank?!? or was it faith's ancient dragon art of bullet dodging? or it could be matrix again and she's doing the neo thingie.....
you gotta notice just how bad the AI is though.. thats the thing thats worrying me, especially given DICE's past efferts with AI.. the worse thing about Bad company.
nonono, if you look at the bottom-left corner of the screen, it says "God Mode". The player was simply invincible! Without that, he would probably have died, especially when he comes point-blank with that one guard.
im really looking forward to this game.. i wish it were a third person action game (im not an fps fan) but it looks like theyve put together a solid package..
video is kinda old, e3 demo i think, but its the first time x3f is puttin it up and i cant resist watching anything thats been released about this game.. got 3 clips of this game on my ipod already..
The AI is deliberately bad. Or so it seems. They are too slow to respond, to shoot or be accurate.
The gameplay looks solid though. I love parkour (and would have indulged in it myself if i wasn't blessed with, umm, 'large bones'). And being able to do some of the parkour in this game sounds awesome. Hope it doesn't get repetitive. The gameplay should innovate through out the game.
I think some of you arent watching the entire clip. The beginning was the same footage that was released months ago, but the rest is new (at least I dont remember ever seeing it on Joystiq or here).
The game seems scripted. Is there alternate routes? Can you jump to a different building rather than the ones shown? What happens if you press the jump button to soon, will you actually jump and fall to the ground? I guess I will find out when the game comes out. Looks like a rental for me.
while the game is gorgeous, the city just looks so static and dead which is disappointing to me. i know there's not much that moves on city rooftops but i feel like there should be some way to liven it up. the game did seem kind of linear too which is bad.
also, can't she do a rolling landing off the bigger jumps so she doesn't hurt/stun herself? seems like a pretty basic move considering the parkour inspiration.

I don't know if I'm excited or not. On one hand it looks pretty cool... on the other, it kind of seems like a game of running to the next red object over and over again.
I think this game looks kick ass but the only thing that worries me is if it is a success, We might expect to see her whored out to a fighting game one day
The game is not linear. During an interview with one of the developers, he said that there are multiple ways to achieve each objective. The red pathways are to help players but there are more hidden ways that a player can explore by him/herself. Also there is no JUMP BUTTON I believe it's just using the sticks to react to the environment. The whole game is about building momentum, the faster you are going, the faster she will complete jumps, slides, etc. And the game doesn't take place just on rooftops, I saw a level in what looked like a sewer. The video with the interview is on IGN if you are interested, it's the same demo just narrated.
