Zombies!!! coming to Xbox Live Arcade???

Hopefully that's enough punctuation in one headline for you. Apparently an eager gamer had sent in some ideas on how to turn their Zombies!!! game, which pretty much keep them rolling in brains and entrails, into an Xbox Live Arcade title, and was told "that they were already underway with this very project." We decided this was something we needed to look into ourselves, given our love of tabletop gaming.

We caught up with Todd A. Breitenstein of Twilight Creations in the extremely slim booth congregation at Comic-Con's gaming portion and he said, "I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of such a project... but do you think it would be cool?" A tile-flipping game was an escape from ravenous zombies plot? Heck yes, we would. While we enjoy getting our game on in Catan, Carcassonne, and even Ticket to Ride, we'd also love to see some good old-fashioned killing of the undead happening as well. Maybe they could even include their flipside game Humans!!! in the deal.

Whoa, I'd never heard of Humans!!! before this. Sounds like an awesome twist. Makes me think that I'd really like to see a Pikmin/Overlord style Zombie game.

Aww, I thought they were talking about Zombies ate my neighbors. Now that would be an XBLA title.

I would much prefer a game like Shogun/Samurai Swords.

My list of games i'd love to see on Live is: Axis and Allies, Risk, Fireball Island, Zombies!!!, Space Hulk, Blood Bowl, Hero Quest, Puerto Rico, Robo Rally, and Aeronautica Imperialis.

Rofl, Fireball Island! Awesome. I had that! Umm... probably a terrible game if I played it today, but man, when I was a kid, that gameboard was just sick!

You'd be surprised, it actually holds up pretty well if you have 3+ friends and beer.

As soon as I saw the girl in the picture I made a bet with myself that half of the comments would be dedicated to phrasing that in one way or another conveyed the message "I'd hit that". Looks like I won...and lost.

I said it once and I'll say it now I'll try anything with Zombies.

I've had a great time playing this game. The board didn't get clogged with zombies until the "endgame" in my experience. I played three times and there was a helli-pad win in all cases. 4 players were involved in all of these sessions.

This would be awesome! I love the tabletop version and would love this option to play against others online. Personally, I've never had any problems with all of the zombies on the board and think it's looks great on a table top.

I love zombies!!! I was actually wondering whether a project like this might be in the works. I think it's a good match and could really benefit from being built up with DLC. Nice tip.

Even though the game had its issues, the theme was enough to carry the party. She told me they had fun the next day wandering around downtown making zombie noises.

As an update I've also discovered that the students at Abertay have been developing this very project for some time. I'm still unclear as to whether they're doing this commercially and are attempting to/ have managed to sell it to Twilight Creations or not.

More information as it comes.
