Madden 09, Facebreaker demos rush onto Xbox Live, PSN [update]
50
Electronic Arts has today released the one-two punch of both Madden 09 and Facebreaker demos on Xbox Live [update: and PlayStation Network] (via Major Nelson). Both downloads are approximately 1 GB apiece, and Facebreaker has the added benefit of a character creation feature that lets you transfer your created fighters to the full game. PlayStation 3 owners can expect the Madden 09 demo today, but face breaking will have to wait until August 7.
[Update: A Sony rep called to let us know that both demos will be coming to PSN today, as well]

Yup the PS3 made EA the most money over the last year. I'll give you guys a few moments to let it sink in because I know I needed it to figure out how it happened (Still don't know btw)

The PS3 made the most money because they include the development/marketing costs against profit to come up with those numbers.
And since every game except Burnout was developed on the 360 then ported to PS3 the financial hit to 360's profit margin is greater.
Developing from the ground up is much more expensive then to do the port.
In all reality they made more money on 360, but they also spent more in game development cost's compared to the port costs on PS3.

Maybe they'll add when they make their usual post of what's new on the PSN network today. And I just checked, the demo isn't even on PSN yet.

Whatever kind of trolling--er, job you do during the day is obviously paying too much...please tell me you're not at "work", because flying off the handle at people who don't write what you want to see doesn't count as work.

you guys can get pissed, but this is not an isolated incident, and it's not some amorphous bias I'm complaining about. IT's black and white, clear as day, & eminently provable.
This story concerns the PS3, (FACT) and its not tagged as such (FACT). If you want to waste your time, go back and look through the past few weeks, I promise you'll find at least anotehr 2-3 examples of this happening
It's just laziness

I have a soft spot for cartoon boxing games so I'll give Facebreaker a whirl. I even liked Black & Bruised.

The demo only lets you run the final drive with the Giants against the Pat's from the Superbowl.
You start with the 4th and short, if don't get it then demo over.
If you score, demo over.
Only offense, only with the Giants, and only finishing that one drive.

Wow that sounds like the most half assed demo ever. Oh wait it's from EA and we're talking about madden here. It makes complete sense now.

well it also introduces you to the ea IQ or whatever they call it and I found it very interesting they was they have the game a.i. that is tailored to you skill set. I would like to see this implemented in their other games as well

It probably is a turd with pretty colors on top given what the last 3 games have been.

Hey, everyone shut up about Madden. It's another iteration of a crappy sports game. Let's move on to the real news here...
Someone tell me about Facebreaker! I've been looking forward to another slug fest game since Fight Night Round 3 came out for crying out loud...

Facebreaker is garbage. Don't bother. Think 3D fighter from 10 years ago minus any sort of special moves aside from punching and blocking. It screams "originally designed for Wii gamers".
Really bad way to make a demo for Madden also.

And here I was gonna finally button down and give madden a chance (has been a supporter of 2K Sports with Football and Basketball). But based on what some of you are saying about the short demo, and how big it is, I think I'll pass.

I'm way too frustrated with Madden to download it myself, so can someone please tell me whether the following features from the GCN/PS2/PC versions are finally being put into the X360/PS3 versions?
1. Dynamic audibles: ability to do "generic run play," "generic play-action play," etc. from every formation. Or do you only have five precanned audibles no matter which formation you're in?
2. Accelerated playclock: playclock that ticks far more time off the clock when the ball stays inbounds. Without it, the teams return to the line of scrimmage with more than 30 seconds on the playclock after every play, and the game clock ticks away very slowly when compared to a real game.
Thanks, anyone who can let me know about these, these things that without them makes Madden play horribly for me.
