Too Human is too gold
29
Fans of cyber-Norse mythology rejoice! Microsoft has announced that Silicon Knights' Too Human has officially gone gold. That means that after ten long years, it's done. The press release also notes that the Too Human demo -- currently available on Xbox Live Marketplace -- "has already been downloaded more than any other action demo on Xbox LIVE Marketplace in its first week of availability and has been one of the top played titles on Xbox LIVE overall." Keen observers will note that the Too Human demo landed at number 8 on the most recent list of top Live games played. The game is scheduled to hit retail shelves on August 19.

I must say, I have been so hot-cold-hot-cold and now hot again on this game. I have actually pre-ordered too human making it the first pre-order for me in 2 years! Unfortunately, the release date falls on my 1 year anniversary with my lovely girlfriend. August 20th FTW!

to be fair, Ninja Gaiden 2 didn't have much demo love before the game came out.

Too bad the game kinda sucks. For me, story is most important (hence why MGS is probably my favorite series, as well as JRPG's like Lost Odyssey), and the story in the demo was laughable. The characters were unconvincing, and the story was just stupid and predictable at best.
It combat is decent, but nothing to get too excited about.

What was predictable about the story? o.0
It barley made any sense, in fact I'd go as far as to say their was little to no story to predict because it was a demo. XD

MGS's story was silly by the end. It just added way too many elements and emotions that really were boring.

Your opinion golia. As a huge fan of the series, i loved every minute of it.
As for Too Human, it's one of the first stories i literally lol'd at it was so bad. It was like those parts in Halo 3 when it took itself too seriously.
(oh, i went there)

Punisher.. I don't think you realize that there was no story in the demo. Possibly due to the fact that it's a demo, and you only played through half a level.

everyone i talk to complains about the controls, and the camera. i honestly do not find a problem with the camera. you don't even have to control it. and about the controls.. whats so hard? point the right stick in the direction you want to attack, and you go flying towards the enemy. easy huh?

The only reason people are complaining about the controls is because it's something completely different (I don't count Monster Hunter because those were so basic it didn't even matter). The controls are fluid(already proven), and they react instantly. To me? They pulled off the control scheme with flying colors.

I really wanted to like this game but I just never got used to the weird combat system or control. I've played the demo multiple times trying to force myself to "get it" but it just never clicked. I hope it sells well, but I wont be helping that cause.
