Video: Backbreaker asks us how it feels
10
NaturalMotion just released a new "How Does it Feel?" trailer for their upcoming (American) football contender Backbreaker. A no-name football game that NaturalMotion is confident can compete against Madden 09 solely because of their gameplay trump card: the Euphoria engine. Promising realistic tackles, unscripted animations and dynamic fumbling goodness, Backbreaker sounds pretty decent on paper. So that's why we have trailers, to actually see with our own two eyes what the game has to offer. But, oddly enough, this Backbreaker trailer doesn't even show a hint of Euphoria goodness. No crunching bones, gang tackles or helmet to helmet collisions. Come on NaturalMotion, let's see your Euphoria trump card.

The tackle alley video is better.. I'd be willing to give it a shot.

Meh, another football game. The thing that sets Madden apart from this one is you get to play with your favorite franchise. Few people will want to play with some made up football teams.

I'm sure that's a large component, but I think many people will be open to the concept of a new game with better gameplay mechanics that doesn't necessarily include all their favorite players.

I agree with SDaddy, in Madden I only care about 1 team, it's the Steelers for me. But in the end if the experience is better MANY people will go for gameplay rather than just a license. EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS WITH PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER...
I tried Blitz and it wasn't any good so I switched back to Madden because Blitz didn't offered anything extra to me.
Backbreaker is looking awesome...

does anyone else find it odd that there is clipping in a pre-rendered video?

yes, i noticed that also....i guess you have to sacrifice the little with the euphoria tech (heres looking at you GTA4 with no paramedic or fire missions)

Meh, i don't know, if you're not able to get an NFL license, the next best thing you can do is make it REALISTIC!
A. QBs don't wear those type of shoulder pads.
B. QBs are not allowed to wear dark visors
C. You cannot pass the ball forward to a #63. unless he lines up outside of the tackle and tells the referee that he is an eligible receiver. and then the ref must announce over the loudspeaker that #63 is an eligible receiver. *nevermind, just watched it again and #63 is clearly lined up at right guard (making him ineligible). Not many RGs have the hands to be lined up out at TE later*

Where's 2K in all this? That'd be a KILLER partnership.
