On the official Japanese PlayStation site, "PlayStation 3's New Superstar!", as LittleBigPlanet is dubbed above, was given a release date of October 30th and a price of 5980 yen ($57 USD). No word yet on a US or PAL release date. Let's hope it's before the Japanese date, considering the game is developed by the UK based Media Molecule.

If this made it out in Japan first, I think SCEE would have to go in to hiding.

I dunno... JP is getting the Home beta before Europe and Home is UK developed as well.

home's been in closed Euro and NA beta for over a year, the upcoming Japanese home beta is just an extension of the existing closed beta.

well the new Argos catalogue has it slated for October 3rd but I'm 100% certain that's just a placeholder... I'm hoping it's a simultanious release, or at least that the UK gets it first...

and has play tv for £69.99

But... that's on my birthday!

It better be released in Europe before Japan, so that I don't have to buy it myself >:( No way anybody's going to get it as a birthday present for me if it comes out on the actual day. Nobody I know who would buy it for me would really bother to pre-order it :(

It's not a PSN download. It's a Blu-ray retail disc.

I'm with ou on this one. I think the game looks cool but there's no way in hell I'm paying 60 bucks for it. Even 40 is a bit rich for my blood...

Well, if it's a Blu-Ray then $60 will be worth it. I don't like the idea of spending the same $60 on a digital copy of something when I could have a physical copy in-hand....

I wonder why they aren't doing a $40 digital download / $60 BR....

Media Molecule devs are going to make an obscene amount of money from this.

Then EA will buy them :D

Release date Octuber 30 in japan i never seen a ps3 game delayed in japan maybe this a good sign.

I'm sure sony will be able to buy/keep MM .

If you ask anybody who works at Target, their machines say it's coming on October 21st. If the US release is before the Japanese one, then Europe's could easily be before it too. Actually I don't totally remember if it was the 21st or maybe the 25th, but it was some time before the 30th.

sweet, awesome game, cant wait to pick it up
