Ratchet's Quest for Booty starts Aug 21 on PSN

The PlayStation Blog reveals that Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty will hit the NA and European PSN on August 21 -- Japan needs to wait one extra day. Those looking to join Ratchet on his quest, as he battles pirates and continues the search for his robotic life-companion, can expect to pay $15 for the 3-4 hour episode.

As we learned during our hands-on time with the title, Quest for Booty will satisfy Ratchet fans and give a small fix before the full-blown sequel eventually comes along. The game has full-production values, but focuses more on adventure elements than the over-the-top weaponry of the series. Insomniac is calling this episodic adventure an "experiment," but if it sells well, we're guessing the developer will experiment some more in the future.

This is good. It will keep me interested in the series while I wait for RCF to drop to a reasonable price-- seriously, it's not on Greatest Hits yet?

14.99 is a bit rich for me considering I just got Tools of Destruction for $3.18 at TRU a couple weeks ago.

Did anyone else find it funny when Tretton said "PS3 has all the great family friendly titles, like Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty". Games with sexual puns are family friendly?

Wait, I don't get it. I thought booty meant treasure. :)

Of course it will sell well, it's Rachet and Clank. That doesn't mean they need to be screwing around with the forumla. I don't like "experimenting" with something so close to perfect.

Well this is one of my favorite games series for sure! I wonder though, with technological breakthroughs, like the Motorokr's awesome Java capabilities, awesome video playback, and full HTML browser the quality of mobile games would be a super breakthrough, and we can start playing these kind of games on the go anywhere. What do you guys think?

Stupid, expensive, episodics. $40-$60 for a 40-80 hour game and $15 for 3 hours?

wow..... I really need to know what games you are playing that last 40-80 hours. Only one game comes to mind..gta. you sound really cheap.

This is Ratchet and Clank we're talking about. I could easily make the original game stretch past 15-20 hours of enjoyment. 3-4 hours is half an afternoon. That's less value than a rental.

And that would be the reason why it's 1/4th of the price...because it's 1/4th of a full game.

3-4 is 1/4 of 15-20 or even 40-80? I did not know that.

I do think this is too expensive.
Hour ratings are usually pulled out, i bet seasoned R&C players will cane this in an hour or two.

Man i'm going to love this! Hopefully it will have some unlockable content to use in the next (full) Ratchet and Clank game.
