Rumor: More 360 price cuts in September

See, he's the one who let's 'em in on industry see-grits, but they can't tell us who he is due to a blinding contract. His latest piece o' dirt is that the Xbox 360 is goin' down in September -- that's $399 for the Elite, $299 for the 60 gigger and $199 for the Arcade. Man, I'm so confused by all these models. They keep explainin' them to me and I gotta keep asking. SKUse me?"

its really not hard to explain. elite has been around for a while so has the premium/pro and you have to core/arcade which u cant really say the two are the same because u get more. Im just waiting for someone to actually bitch about the prices going down

Yeah, but all those games will suck, the people playing them will get carpal tunnel / rotator cuff issues, and games can actually be GOOD again instead of being based on an over-praised and idiotic gimmick controller.

Those three games in particular actually look damn good... the only one I don't have high hopes for is The Conduit, because, while the devs are certainly dedicated to bringing a good looking/controlling game to the Wii, everything I've seen about the game looks bland and uninspired so far. The graphics are good, the controls are good... everything else looks lame.
Unless you're just going around ranting about how every Wii game ever will suck, in which case I'll just call you an idiot right now - I've been ragging on the Wii left and right lately but even the Wii gets good games every once in a while.

Yeah I expect these price cuts to atleast make some competition for the Wii...Especially that attractive(Though Useless) Arcade Sku...199 is the sweet spot....Now if the Premium hits 199 they will have an issue on their hands....And oh yeah all these price cuts make me smell Redesign of the system

to each their own i guess, cause out of all those games you guys listed, Pikmin 3 is the only one im excited about. i am intrigued by this Mad World, but i wouldnt say im excited.
i just bought Galaxy during the Amazon.com gold box deals and as soon as i beat that, the Wii is going back to collecting dust until i get some Pikmin or Zelda.

No, those aren't good points because all the games you are talking about would be better on a more powerful system and work better with a normal controller - the sequels prove this handily. They're being put on an underpowered system with a goofy, gimmicky waggle controller to justify its existence. Just like every other game that has come out on the system. We rightfully laugh at Sony for imposing tilt on us, yet waggling the controller to jump is AWESOME!!!! It's insane.
The waggle controller seemed like a good idea for certain kinds of games, but even those target games sucked due to poor sensitivity and the real hell of actually controlling them (like golf, baseball, the horrible sword games, and so on). Yet people still defend Nintendo's retarded decision.
I swear, Nintendo could release a console controlled by an ass dildo and you people would be screaming about how the new Mario controls great with it. Such fanboyism and 'good' Japanophilia (because Sony are the 'evil Japanese', while Nintendo are the 'cute, nice Japanese').

Thats really awesome, 60gb for 50$ more than a wii! Arcade is 50 less than a wii. This is not only good for people getting xboxes, but the other 2 have to do something to counteract that... 299 ps3 maybe? or a 199 wii?

Nope, SONY is going for profitabilty (and they have a great 09 line up, especially with killzone 2 to kick off the year and infamous in the spring), and wii is stil selling out, so why lower the price, maybe next year if the wii sales slow down, but its pretty cheap already, and if they have a zelda and mario next year, i highly doubt a price drop. I hope this is true though i want me a 60 gig 360, though im only buying gears, the ps3 just has a better line up for me, but it'll be fun to play with friends and try out bioshock and halflife.

i agree with browntown... which sucks, because i've been holding out to get a PS3 cause i want a price drop... and probably will not get one for a while. With everything coming out next year, i'll probably break down and buy one, then hate myself 3 months later when the price drops $50-100.

Well, if this ends up being true, I'll definatley be getting myself one. I've been waiting for the right time to snag myself a 360, if only for GTA at the moment. I love my Wii, but I want to have the opportunity to play some of the other sweet looking games that are on the other consoles. And hell, if the PS3 gets a price drop, I'll probably end up snagging that one too. Time will tell. Soon I will have the gaming trifecta in my living room.
