We've all seen the adorably customizable lookalikes that we'll be generating with the Avatar system, due out with the Xbox 360 Fall update -- but we've yet to see the actual system that will let you let you create your virtual representation. However, a "super secret source" recently sent our green and white sister site, 360 Fanboy, a couple of images containing the icons used in the Avatar creator. Assuming they're legit, they give a great indication of what aspects of your avatar you'll be able to manipulate. Based on the images in the gallery below, it looks like our dream of walking through Xbox Live's virtual halls as a morbidly obese man in a rabbit costume might just come true.

Looks confusing...The great thing about the Miis is how fast and simple it is to create one. They're abstract enough that they can look very much like you in a short period of time. But it looks like the avatars are just trying to do too much..

Well I would like more options for the Miis but yeah they are simple.

Actually, I find it takes people (like me) extremely long to create Miis of themselves or their friends because they want to get them just right, so the idea of adding even MORE features kind of sounds scary. Though, if you are only making one avatar (yourself) I suppose it's not that much of a problem.

Not bad, looks like they give you a lot of customizable features.

It looks like the green ones are things that are required and the grey is extras...
Things like clothes are needed, but facial hair and hats aren't so they're optional.

Tell you what. If they make you pay to wear a hat, MS can blow me. And hopefully people will be smart enough to not pay for that kind of stuff. I can see, maybe, paying for a shirt or hat or something someone made on there own at home and uploaded.
I'll just try make my dude as fuck-ugly as I can.
And yeah Dre, it does look a little over complicated.

Is it just me, or do the eyes and eyebrow options at the bottom seem to be from a zoomed in screen capture of a Mii?

Yep. Either this is fake, or it's an even closer ripoff of Miis than previously believed.

They're avatars, very similar to what you can create online for MSN and Yahoo messenger. Which, may I add, pre-date the Mii's by quite a number of years.
Menu's do look a bit cluttered, but I wouldn't say it looks over complicated, it seems very clear what everything does.
The Mii system is undoubedly more simple, but that's because there's practically nothing you can do with it. Perhaps seperating the facial editing from the clothing may have helped though.

i don't why Microsoft is not taking advantage of the VISION CAM for the 360.
It would be totally awesome, if you could take a pic with the VISION and it automatically makes you at Avatar, not having to go through all the stuff.
You could still customize it, but it give you a general overall look.

It would work for the face but I don't know if it would work for the full body especially since these avatars are pretty much like the Miis.
