Admit it: as soon as you heard about Wii MotionPlus, one of the first thoughts to come into your head was "Man, I can't wait to stab Gannon with that thing!" In fact, many of us had similar ideas way back when we first heard about the Wii's revolutionary controller. Eventually, we learned that while the Wiimote is impressive, it can't quite replicate 1:1 movement. Some cite this as the main reason that Red Steel was so disappointing. Many were expecting to wield a sword with complete freedom, but instead were given vanilla motion responses.
The Wii MotionPlus aims to provide the console with better capabilities, as it will turn the controller into a fully trackable object in 3D space. The possibilities are broad, but the most desired activity is sword-fighting (or perhaps lightsaber-dueling). The fencing in Wii Sports Resort is a start, but what we really want is intense, brutal steel-clanging, flesh-slicing, monster-slaying mayhem. Perhaps we'll be seeing this implemented sometime soon -- possibly involving a certain green-capped friend of ours.
