2K reveals some PS3 BioShock Trophies; Survivor mode still a mystery
After giving a tiny taste of the Trophies available in the PS3 version of BioShock a couple weeks ago, 2K left people feeling like all Achievements had simply been recycled. Not so, says 2K Marin designer Tynan Wales, explaining on the PlayStation Blog that there are exclusive Trophies for the port.
We're checking with 2K for an official answer.
Update: Supposedly 2K Marin will reveal what Survivor mode is tomorrow.
- "A Man Chooses" -- Complete "Survivor" difficulty.
- "I Choose The Impossible" -- Complete "Survivor" difficulty with the Vita-Chambers turned off.

probably something like you can only have one health and mana vial (or whatever it's called in this game, eve I think?) on your person at any given time.

great, that game needs a challenge
Demaar @ Aug 4th 2008 8:04PM
*shrugs* These are pretty much the same as the Seriously Good At This and Brass Balls achievements. The new names are better, but that's the only difference. The challenge was still there.

do people really STILL care about this game? im as big of a sony fanboy as the next guy but i do not give to sh!ts about this game. i didnt care about it when it was new for the 360.
GIVE ME NEW INFO ABOUT WHITE KNIGHT STORY!!!!! please
Foetoid @ Aug 4th 2008 5:26PM
It's an excellent game, this is why people ARE giving a shit. Those who don't have the PC to run it well, or don't have a 360, now finally get to play this fantastic FPS. So many many generic FPS games are released every year, this ISN'T one of them.
syrik zero @ Aug 4th 2008 5:36PM
Foetoid is right, this game is amazing! I played it through on my 360 and loved it. Now I have a PS3 and I'm thinking about GameFlying it to try it out on the PS3 and see how I like it.
atrimus @ Aug 4th 2008 5:47PM
well, i had it for the 360 last year, but ended up trading it towards Orange Box, as i thought OB was the better value. dumbest move i've made in my recent gaming years. Bioshock, imo, was 360's best game last year. i would've long since regotten it for the 360, but then i heard about the PS3 version with the extras and decided to wait. really, i'd try the game out before knocking it if i were you. it's really good.
but yeah, i agree with you about WKC. PS3 is in dire need of a jrpg, and as it stands WKC looks like best one in the pipeline for both PS360. hopefully Sony/Level-5 will have more to show (and a release date) at TGS.

I'm guessing it's a mode you have to beat the entire game in a single sitting. No saves.
MKA @ Aug 4th 2008 5:29PM
This is very tempting....
Red_Robot @ Aug 4th 2008 5:41PM
I'm glad this is reaching a new audience.
I hope it doesn't get lumped in with the all the other generic FPSs that have come before it and ignored.
It's a fantastic game.
Saria the Cat @ Aug 5th 2008 1:31AM
Anyone who lumps Bioshock together with ANY other FPS doesn't know anything about games so I've high hopes for its success on the PS3. I love more people getting to experience something awesome.
WiNG [Life in a Game] @ Aug 4th 2008 6:02PM
It is probably like the Hardcore mode on Diablo 2 or Alien Versus Predator ( which was a great FPS)
In AVP, you got 1 life and 1 save. Every time you saved, it overwrote your old save, and if you died it erased your save file.
In other words, beat the game in one life, with no saves to bail you out.
Red_Robot @ Aug 4th 2008 6:58PM
Maybe I'm missing something.
It let you save, but only if you promised not to die.
If you broke your promise, it got pissed and deleted your save?
a little sadistic, no?
Cennus @ Aug 4th 2008 7:02PM
BioShock was excellent on my PC. I can't wait to test out my new TV with the PS3 version. I like so far.
Kilo720 @ Aug 4th 2008 10:32PM
cant wait for thisgame
Saria the Cat @ Aug 5th 2008 1:32AM
That screenshot makes me want to play another round through! Oh, Bioshock. *sighs happily*
Flakundenga @ Aug 5th 2008 2:40AM
well it better not be like a new really awesome game mode cuz otherwise i'll be pissed since i already bought it on the 360. hope it sells good on the ps3, doubt it however...
