This activity requires waggle of the most physical kind: moving the entire body. Remember the balance board? You know, that thing you were going to use to finally get your self in shape, but now it collects dust in the space between your entertainment center and the wall? Some people that I've seen play Wii Fit say that the skiing and snowboarding are the best parts. What, you don't like holding the plank for extended periods of time? Surfing seems to be a natural evolution of this idea. If fleshed out enough, a surfing game on the Wii using the balance board could work quite well.
As I followed the live-blogging of Nintendo's 2008 E3 Keynote, I imagined that this was going to be included in Wii Sports Resort. Whether it be surfing, water skiing, or even parasailing, I was almost certain that Nintendo's "vacation" themed edition of Wii Sports would include some form of water sports (other than the jet skiing). Instead, we got ... frisbee. Not even ultimate frisbee. Just frisbee. Well, since Nintendo seems to feel that the best post-Wii Fit plan for the balance board is to act as a foot pedal, it's apparent that a third party is needed to step up on this one.
