We're rarely ever encouraged when we see a demo for a game come after it has already been released -- it always feels a touch like a last-ditch effort. But when, as is the case for both games today, the release date predates the demo by more than a month? That's not promotional material; that's a dead canary.
But, as both Alone in the Dark and Wall•E will likely be headed to Bargainville soon, perhaps there's no better time to get a free sample. Just don't be surprised if there's a reason they kept these sludge-filled hors d'oeuvres out of your hands.

I played the Wall-E demo on PS3 a while ago, and it wasn't *too* terrible. It kept me busy for at least 20-30 minutes. I've certainly played worse licensed games.

Now everyone can be frustrated as hell with Alone In The Dark for free! Those controls were pretty bad IMO.

yeah, it's definitely "hors d'oeuvres". not hors d'ouvers.

I'm torn on Alone in the Dark. I've never felt so conflicted about a game...it does a lot wrong, yeah, but it also does quite a few things right...haven't beaten it yet, but I'll keep chugging along.

Personally I think that image is a little heavy for the site, but others might disagree.

I got 1000/1000 in Alone in the dark.
A much underrated game with good ideas that were bad implemented, I can forgive most of its flaws except for the Camera in the in game cut scenes. The camera is great but when it comes to cut-scenes it doesn't works most of the time and there is a lot of cool stuff to see.
I say that Alone in the dark is pretty good. The reviews you see on Meta Critic are really harsh. If you are into the genera you should check it out.
Believe is not worst that *glup Rule of the Rose.
Meanwhile I still have to finish Condemned 1 and get all the MP achievements in Condemned 2.

I liked Alone in the Dark as well. It really is underrated.
The controls take getting used to but they could fix the other issues with a patch.

I love the picture! (not because of the violence, but because of Wall-E in the background!)
He's adorable lol

What game is that anyway?
It can't be Alone in the dark, there isn't nothing like that in the game.

Bravo, Joystiq. That's the funniest picture I've seen today.

Wall-E was actually a lot of fun on the Wii. The part of the game were you can knock people out of their hover chairs was worth the price of the rental.
