New games this week: Books edition

We were about to hit this week's new releases, but then we thought "Hey, aren't there enough video games on Joystiq? Wouldn't it be better if we took a time out to talk about other stuff people like? Like books?" So, let's do this. ... Wow, so, books, right? Don't you totally love them? Like the way you have to hold them up to your face to see the squiggles? And the way you can't see them in the dark?

ARRGGH! OK! We give! We can't pretend like we know how to read for one second longer, we just couldn't face the prospect of elevating one of this week's games above the others. Do you know how bad things have to get before you consider letting the Cheetah Girls and Hannah Montana share the title? Pretty freaking bad, that's how bad. Me too, buddy. But not because my 360 died, but because of my $4 purchase of the super-fun Mark of Kri for PS2. Playing those older games make me really glad I got a PS3 w/ backward compatability.

Yeah, I guess its alright. I bought SuperStardust HD the first night trophies were available but never played it. Started playing it this weekend and I'm really enjoying it. So far I have 6 trophies :P

Right now, I'm just waiting on my 360 coffin to come in...

I just sent my box to them last wed for the damn red rings. I bitched to them and asked for a supervisor because it was my 4th return (not because of rrod, other issues) so they gave me next day shipping all 3 ways. I just checked and my box should be here today.

SSD is ok but I guess I would have liked it more if I never played Geowars

Yeah its funny because I had just finished downloading the GeometryWars2 trial and was really enjoying the shit out of it (never played GeoWars 1) and was about to buy the whole game but my crap red ringed. I guess it was inevitable since I pretty much had a launch console and had never gotten a RRoD. Anyway I'll be getting GeoWars2 when I get it back. In the meantime SSHD is good fun.

That game is some crazy fun. Though, some jerk on my friends list got 30mil on Pacifism and I've been pulling my hair out trying to beat it.

Dude, I know I played the GeoW2 trial and was hooked! Then all of a sudden I went to play it again like at 12:30am Sunday morning and BAMMMM!! RRoD strikes like a thief in the night stealing my joy from me. I'll be outta comission for a while man.

Would you believe I've had three different Xbox 360's and not because any of them red-ringed?

I bought the first one in college, then had to Ebay it because it was going to hurt my pocketbook too much in the long run.

I bought another one the next year, and played it for about six months, then traded it in for a PS3 after the 60gig price dropped.

I bought the third 360 and owned it for all of 3 days before I changed my mind and took it back. I'm like the Charlie Brown of video game consoles.
