New Team ICO game impresses Shuhei Yoshida

While there's no real news regarding Fumito Ueda and Team ICO's new game, Shuhei Yoshida made a few comments on it in a recent interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine UK. First off, yes, they are working on a game (this has only been confirmed from one arbitrary, assumed screenshot on their official site), but it's going to be a while until we see anything.

Yoshida started work on ICO before moving to the United States, so he's seen how Ueda works -- uncompromising was the word used. Four years is the general time to wait for each game, Yoshida concludes, but this game will be worth it because "they have something really, really good on the way." We look forward to hearing more!

AAARGH!! I hate this! Such ambiguity...I felt like this about FF: Crisis Core for nearly half a decade and it finally came out and was great. I felt like this about MGS4 for Four long years and it came out and was incredible. I don't think I can take this kind of mystery much longer. I KNOW it will be awesome. SE and Kojima always made awesome and they didn't fail and neither shall team ICO, but sitting in line for four years, waiting for somthing that I know nothing about but is ensured to be excellent? I'm going to have to start worrying about my blood pressure if everyone keeps this up.

Never played Shadow of the Colossus. Heard the game was pretty good.

One of the few real "Epic" games.

Anything from Team Ico has been magic so far....Shadow's alot of fun. Should be cheap right now too, buy it!

Only drawback with the experience(s) is that there's virtually zero replayability unless you just like playing the game over.

Team ICO is awesome. I have no doubt that they're gonna make another epic game.

I guess someone here shouldn't have invested all his money in a console that looks like a cheap pda ;)

Great news but not gonna get overly excited just yet. Just give them the time they need to craft another masterpiece!

SOTC and ICO remain two of my favorite PS2 experiences to this day.

I LOVED Ico and SotC, but it does seem that certain PS3 games take forever to come out.

I'm a PS3 owner, but I'm sick and tired of vapor like this. Show me things I'll be able to get in the near future, cause a lot of these promises never live up to the hype. Lair, Haze and Home are perfect examples... not to mention how the PS3 was supposed to be a super computer, but it can't download things in the background when I'm watching a DVD.

I'm sick of the stupid level of unbelievable hype.

@JayVe, No vaporware here mate, your confused. U comparing this game to the likes of Haze & Lair has ranked u the official No:1 nOOb award. Have u ever played ICO or SotC?- obviously not. These games are worth waiting for, no matter how long as they go down in history as being some of the best ever crafted, BEST! Art in a game. Team ICO is the equivilant to Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, guaranteed to be brilliant, end of story!

One screen shot, and a lot of promises is what we have. Right now, the game is vapor... that's it. Sure, the company made other exciting games in the past, but so did the Duke Nukem team.

You compare the ICO team to Shigeru Miyamoto, but not everything Shiggy makes is my cup of tea. Wii Music? Nintendogs?

Banking on name alone is sure to end in disappointment.

Like every PS3 owner, i can't wait for this new Team ICO game!

A message to all. The previous 2 team ICO games sold only average, [SAD, why?]. Lets all support this new comming one MUCH, MUCH more and give it the justice it will deserve. Then we can get more in this area for our PS3's. Just read a little and u will see that there really was nobody who said anything bad about ICO or Shadow Of The Colosus, 2 brilliant games. Happy days comming next year, that's for sure!

I own copies of ICO and SotC already, and I would buy them again if they were released in High Definition on the PS3.
