Obvious: Next Team Ico game will be 'really, really good'

We could have told you that, you know. If you don't trust our word, however, how about the one from Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida? He would know, wouldn't he? Allegedly talking to Official PlayStation Magazine (August issue cited on NeoGAF), Yoshida refers to the team that built ICO and Shadow of the Colossus as the "Olympic Team." Why? Well, because it takes 'em four years to finish a game.

"They haven't released a PS3 title yet - of course not - they'll take four years!" explains Yoshida. "But they have something really, really good on the way." Is it too early to dole out 2009's Game of the Year Award?

Well I just played and beat Ico about a month ago for the first time and it was an amazing experience that changed how I view console gaming. So I'd argue it still packs a punch to this day.

This is one of the reasons I bought a PS3.

On a side note, I recently went to my ridiculous backlog and have been having an absolute blast with Warhawk (though I really suck) and Assassin's Creed (throwing guards off of cliffs and rooftops will never get old). Does anybody here still play Warhawk? If so, my PSN is WorstReviewEver and I would like to play sometime. Also, can anyone recommend a good headset?

i loved the previous games. the characters were so athletic and capable without having to be over the top strong. the way they moved felt natural even when they struggled over obstacles.

Shadow of the Colossus seemed like a great game in concept. However, I found the controls scheme to be terrible and made the game unplayable. Some PS games can get away with it, but for something like SoC you need something better then that to control the game. Too bad I never heard about it when I played with the controller more, but I really hate that controller so one game is not worth it.

Team Ico games are HORRIBLE. Only "hardcore" gamers could pretend to like those pretentious excuses for "games as art" with crappy gameplay and no fun to be had at all. I gave them a chance on PS2 and got burned, I won't be expecting much from them anymore.

I'm a PS3 owner, but I'm sick and tired of vapor like this. Show me things I'll be able to get in the near future, cause a lot of these promises never live up to the hype. Lair, Haze and Home are perfect examples... not to mention how the PS3 was supposed to be a super computer, but it can't download things in the background when I'm watching a DVD.

I'm sick of the stupid level of unbelievable hype.

Some people claim that Team ICO is the equivalent to Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, but not everything Shiggy makes is without disappointment.

Don't hype games for which there is nothing to show, otherwise you end up with a Duke Nukem on your hands.
