New rule: If a game's princess gets abducted, then they deserved it and we ignore it. They obviously are just doing this for attention at this point.

I like the fat kind that you get to kidnap. Sounds more fun than saving one.

I'm glad you're mentioning this in most of your comments today as well as part of your name now or I might have missed it. Hopefully you don't RROD November 7th. That's why I have a spare (seriously)

LOL, yeah I really only brought it up twice and the others were questions from buddies. I put it in my name cuz I was seriously depressed. Not "fuck you M$ I'm going to be a PS3fanboy" depressed but just depressed ya know.

I dont have a replacement but if my refurb does RRoD on Nov 7 then check the news for destruction and chaos in the Greater Houston Metropolitan area.

"Microsoft has informed Shacknews that the reported $22.50 price point for Castle Crashers and $15 Braid price, believed to stem from a now-removed Microsoft Japan listing, are incorrect for both domestic and international markets."

That looks pretty, look at his little suit.

Don't all XBLA games have demos? I think they do anyway. I've only got one game for my Xbox so far, but this does look really cool. I need to find a ethernet cable and some Xbox points, though.

Yeah, consider my interest piqued. It looks like there's a demo for it, since one of those screenshots says "Press (X)to unlock the full game." Let us dig out our ethernets and have a go.

It will have a demo for sure.

A requirement for all Arcade games is that they have a demo available at the time of release. A feature that definitely helps me curb any impulse buys.

The screenshot in the post is an old one. The art was changed to a "painterly" style. IMO, Jon Blow should've stuck with the "old" art style.

A little too expensive for my XBLA tastes. It better be really really really really good and a relatively long game otherwise I may as well just get Jade Empire on their Originals list.

Yeah, see, I would just get Jade Empire, again, but the thing of it is, is that the xbox live originals don't have any achievements added on to them. Hell, if Halo, Psychonauts, and basically any of the other originals had achievements added to them, I'd gladly buy them again despite still owning the original disc for the Xbox. To me it seems as though Microsoft really dropped the ball on those originals. But I'll gladly pay 15 dollars for a game such as N+ or Puzzle Quest that has given me more hours of fun than some retail games.

I'm protesting this game on the grounds that it portrays women as feeble and unable to help themselves...this is obviously going to breed a generation of heteronormative assholes that will hate women and try to control them.

well played.
what, no photo of you giving the middle finger to Braid?

On topic, I'm pretty excited about the idea that XBLA can move beyond 'arcade' style games into the realm of more robust releases at a budget price, a la, Wiiware or PSN.
I think the price is reasonable if you think of it in these terms, instead of comparing it to Pac Man or Galaga.

In fact, the name "Live Arcade" is limiting, and helps perpetrate this idea that they only peddle HD remakes of 80s arcade hits.

15$ to me seems like too much for something that looks like it could be on the SNES (but not as good graphically). I would consider it though; if it were 10$.

Look around you in college or in the workplace, our society already breeds heteronormative assholes that hate women and try to control them, in fact, society breeds women that like that, which perpetuates the problem. I highly doubt a 15 dollar XBLA game will put even more emphasis on this fact. Unless of course you're referencing that Fat Princess game. In which case, well said.

Well, I've been bitching forever about the lack of good, graphically pretty 2D games, so I'll be checking this out. If Megaman 9 is going to be $10 and have NES graphics, then I don't see why this couldn't be $15. Still, $10 would have been an insta-purchase.

Still, Knytt Stories is the best 2D game I've played since SotN, and that was free with a ton of free add-on levels...

Everything I've read about it suggests it's a great game, but $15 is just too much for me when it comes to XBLA games. $10 is reasonable, but not $15 IMO. That said, I'm sure plenty of people will buy it at $15.

Depends on who's deciding the pricing here. If MS is, then yes, I can't help but feel they're completely over pricing these games and it's going to hurt sales. If it's the developers, well, they deserve the sales they end up with.

everyone here like to judge a book by its cover (and price).

Try out the demo, then make a more educated comment.

This looks to be a more substantial game thus $15 dollars is acceptable. It looks as deep and fun as the Penny Arcade game and it's 5 dollars less.

For $15 I could rebuy Psychonauts as an Xbox Original. Will this be better than Psychonauts? I don't think so.

This game is VERY good. Way better than the still images can convey. Well worth $15.

As to over pricing from MS, one way to get lower prices is to not buy. But realize that well over half of what you pay goes to the developer and he is not exactly living in a mansion swilling Dom.
