Out of curiosity, is the SMS Sonic the Hedgehog the same as the GameGear one?

No.

This is a version that was on the Game Gear over a decade back.
If you really want to know about, you should get Sonic Adventure DX for the Cube.

Dr. Robotnik is the real name of Sonic's enemy, but the upper half of his body is egg-shaped so Sonic and friends call him Eggmann(kind of as a joke, too).

And I don't know if you said this in the video(Internet Channel loads videos so slowly), but is Splatterhouse the Wii Shop's first M-rated game?

Nope, the original Splatterhouse was also rated M. I believe some others might be, as well.

Maybe Wikipedia has the info handy? Hope that helps!

If you miss a week, you should double up the video the next Monday or just post that VC review on a different day.

Master System Sonic really isn't a bad game, especially considering it's only 500 points. The levels are different from the Genesis/Mega Drive version, although many share a similar theme and the same name.

Actually, the first Splatterhouse, on the VC, is rated T.

Has anyone else noticed that the original Splatterhouse for the Turbo Grafix 16 is missing from the official website? Any guesses as to why that might be? It shows up for me in the shop channel if I browse for TG-16 titles; but then I own it, which makes me curious as to whether or not it is still available for others.

You got the recommendations wrong. Sonic for the SMS was better than for the GG but the sound was a bit annoying. It is also only 500 points, so it is a pretty good deal for a Sonic game.

SH2, the game was basically the same boring game as SH only with really bad graphics, music, and sound effects and it did not have the turbo button. SH3 was a great surprise though.

Glad to have you back, David.
However, if we follow your reasoning, why download the first Sonic on Genesis when, for the same price (and IMHO), the second one is so much better?
The fact is that the Master System game is completely different from the Genesis one and stands on its own as an excellent and (somewhat) challenging game (especially if you go after the 6 emeralds).
For 500 points, it should be a blind buy for any Sonic fan.
And as for the Genesis version, why not do like me and buy the Game Cube version of the Sonic Mega Collection (over 50 used or new available for prices ranging from $4.20 to $22.99 + shipping on Amazon alone)?
That's up to 12 (including 5 unlockable) games for a price that is definitely right (and then, buy the Sonic Gem Collection for 11 more Sonic games that you won't have to wait for the release of on the VC - this last sentence sounds poorly constructed, but I think you'll get the gist of it).
