The untamed wilderness that was the American west in the 19th Century was tough, mister. You never knew when a balloon with dynamite attached to it would float up from the ground and try to attack, not to mention the giant flying sheriff's badges. Purple kamikaze midgets were around every corner, and you couldn't walk 10 feet without getting sombreros thrown at you.
Now, there's a game that captures the West, the real West in all its hat-tossing, purple-kamikaze-midget-having glory: Wild West Guns (Gameloft, 1-2 players, 1,000 Wii Points). Eat your hearts out, Carradines David and Keith. Eat them right out.
I was hoping a game like this would come on to WiiWare, but I sort of wanted it to be more like Ghost Squad or HOTD in that it carries you through a level, instead of this which looks like it has you sit in one place for an extended period of time.
That doesn't look too bad. On the other hand, I've already got Link's Crossbow Training and Wii Play and I don't see much new. In fact, some of it (particularly the targets appearing in rows and the keeping the can in the air bit) looked almost identical to Wii Play's target shooting.
Actually the Wii is popular for Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Mario Kart Wii. Are you saying those are crap too?
My $250 investment has more than paid off from just these games alone. Have faith, Pikmin is on its way!
I'm on the fence about this one. Don't have Wii Play, though I played it. Love target shooters, but they get old quick. I don't see anywhere if there's an online leaderboard, I doubt there is. Probably not much value in 6 levels either.
It's a shame they can't/won't bring light games to the VC. Wild Gunman was one of my favorites from the 8-bit era, and for a moment I was hoping this would be similar.
while it's mechanics wouldn't be enough to fill one minigame in a shovelware title these days, a spiritual successor on the Wii would be most welcome.
Oh frick hell! I was really hoping this would be more akin to Wild Guns (SNES) and not just another click-the-monkey game. Wild Guns could integrate both waggle and pointing perfectly. Come on, Natsume. Quit with the Harvest Moon stuff and give Wild Guns a sequel!

Another one bytes da dust, heard it many times in the trailer.
But except of that, the game looks really cool, this is what Wii Play should have!

This looks pretty good actually (IMO).
Although I heard "Another one bites the dust!" said like three times...which sounds like it could get pretty annoying.

Thank you!
I thought the same thing.
It's like a cross between Wii Play and Raving Rabbids.
I'll pass.

Oh my god... I'm getting sick of this, I just want the Strong Bad game to come out. PLEASE NO MORE SHOVELWARE
PunchyMcJunk @ Aug 4th 2008 3:26PM
This is a WiiWare title, may I remind you... Just look at XBLA, and then see if your flamebait cry of shovelware holds up.

Holy crap it's a Blood Bros remake! Kind of!
This is the first WiiWare that I might actually get, if it isn't too short. That "level wheel" seemed to indicate 6 stages, which isn't too good.

this looks extremely easy and dumbed down; perfect for the infantile and elderly!

This game has Injuns. Or should I say, Native American Injuns.
mara @ Aug 4th 2008 11:44AM
Reminds me of Lethal Enforcers II. I had a lot of fun with that game back in the day.
PunchyMcJunk @ Aug 4th 2008 3:28PM
Agreed. I vote Hogan's Alley and The Lone Ranger as my personal faves, but there are certainly other's I'd go after for a 10 spot on the VC.

WHERE IS STRONG BAD?
