Who's going to notice a game with a title like "Onechanbara" on store shelves? But add a subtitle like "Bikini Samurai Squad" – not forgetting imagery of said swimsuit sporting swordswomen – and you have a chance. D3Publisher is taking a chance on the cult Xbox 360 import, which stars two sisters on a mission to battle zombie hordes ... while wearing next to nothing. A quick parsing of the game's page on D3's site returned the following words: "expose," "thrusting," "deep," "inside," and "desperate." Oh, and lest we forget the ability to check out the "super sexy" twins in the "exclusive dress-up mode." The game has yet to be rated by the ESRB, but surely it's E10+ fare, no? D3 hasn't set a release date for the game yet, but it's likely to debut early next year along with Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers for Wii.

She seems to be lacking some sort of samurai armor. And a penis to give her samurai rights.

Can any penis bestow Samurai Rights? Or does it have to be a special penis?

Shouldn't Troma Studios be making a film adaptation of this?

Don't buy it when it first comes out, because I'm pretty sure it'll eventually be released at a discounted price with DOA 4 under some kind of "Greatest Tits" banner.

For a second I was considering whether bikini's were the best outfit for fighting zombies. Then I remembered I was supposed to be a victim of marketing, and all was well again.

Um...lest is a conjunction making that a dependent clause. Where's the clause on which it is dependent?
Lest means "so as to prevent any possibility that".
Oh, and so as to prevent any possibility that we forget the ability to check out the "super sexy" twins in the "exclusive dress-up mode."
That's not a complete sentence. Maybe that should have been "Oh, and god forbid we forget the ability...'"
Grammar is fun!

Oh, I'm absolutely a nerd. There's no doubt about that. In fact, I'm such a nerd that I read a blog about video game news, if you can believe that.

You know...put this out at a friendly 20-30 dollar price, and I'd actually think about it. I could pretty much care less about the bikini clad chick, but I'm more or less down for anything that involves zombies. Make this more like 50 bucks, or the standard 60 bucks and there is no way in hell.
This game isn't even weird. Compared to Battle Raper and Cho Aneki, Onechanbara is tame.

Jesus Christ, some days I wake up and look at the state of video games and ask myself why I am killing myself to get an education to work in this industry.
The culture of video games is the most disgustingly juvenile and puerile collection of any major medium. The primary representation of the medium of video games is one of base sex and violence completely eschewing any sense of artistry or intelligence. The blame is most easily lain on the makers but gamers deserve their fair share.
This game is one of the most exploitative and disgracefully sexist things I have seen in a long while that is not outright pornography. We, as gamers, should demand that video game makers treat us with far more respect than this. The standard line whenever video games are attacked is that they are art and that they cannot be censored. I have long believed in that statement and have been a passionate defender of the medium, but I am starting to get tired of it. This game, like most everything that comes out of the industry, is far from art. This is trash, plain and simple.
As I said, shame on the people who made this but equal blame should also go on gamers who have been steadfastly resistant to engage in any sort of critical analysis of the major works of video games. The great French New Wave films of the 1960s came about as a result of students of film gather first as critics before making their own movies. By focusing the culture of video games on what kitshy thing someone has done with 8-bit Mario graphics or graphically intensive tits there should be SOME people who are willing to sit down with the great works of video games and figure out why they work and what they mean - what they tell us about the artist and about ourselves.
This has been a bit harsh on everyone I know, I just can't understand hearing about a game like this and not demanding that we as a culture start taking ourselves seriously. This shouldn't be bought or rented or even laughed at, people should be mad that they think we are this stupid.
I think video game fans are smart people. I think we realize the potential for artistic expression and storytelling in video games, that is why I am dedicating my life to the medium. I just think there is reason to be profoundly disappointed in the state of video games. Rather than spending our time arguing about brand loyalties we should be demanding that these companies that we give billions of dollars a year provide us with something beyond the culinary.
I am sorry for thread jacking.

Take heart, good Sir or Madam! Not all is dire in the world of video games. But as with any medium in a free society, it is used to convey all kinds of messages to all kinds of people. As your post demonstrates, this in fact fosters differentiation and thereby innovation.
The problem with most outside critics of video games is that they criticize the medium for a particular message a certain game conveys. Many many games are perfectly beyond reproach. You as a future game creator is understandably concerned that the reputation of your chosen profession is besmirched by filth. But just because one works in the movies, doesnt mean one works in porn. Same here.
Yes, the game is on the purile side of the scale, but dont give it so much credit as to be afraid that it will derail the good that games do. A well established medium reflects the society that fostered it and just like most games are decent, so are most people good. You are one of the good ones it seems. Welcome to the club.

I'm sorry, but boo-friggin-hoo.
There will always be media that focuses on sex in any artform. Saying that we should somehow stop making these kinds of games does a disservice to video games as an artform. Art has many different forms, be they immature or mature, sexualized or not, but trying to say which is and is not fit to be released is extremely ignorant and foolish.
I can understand where you are coming from, since video games have suffered from these kind of negative opinions in the past from society because they were quick to judge. Don't make the same mistake and be quick to judge any game that has sexualized characters.

You need an education to get into this industry? Huh...
You need 2 things. Talent (as is to say you need to be better and more martyr-esque than most at whatever it is that you do) and juvenile bad taste. Well, you don't NEED bad taste, but trust me...it gets frustrating without it.

It is true that games are better with the inclusion of zombies.
It is also reasonable to assume that games are never hurt by including bikinis.
Therefore we can assume that this game will be awesome.

Amazing, I never honestly thought that this game would ever be released in the US.
Also, if you think this is exploitative, you haven't seen much of the simple 2000 line of games yet.

Evidently, in addition to being bikini-clad samurai, these ladies are also cowboys. Seriously, what gives with the hat? Is this some sort of strange tribute to Rising Zan: Samurai Gunman?

I'm buying it.....it's an original title...it will be at a cheaper price offering......and its premise is hilarious.
Heck I took chances on unknown (at the time) games like: POY POY, TEN PIN ALLEY, BYST-A-MOVE, RETURN FIRE, GOD HAND, INCREDIBLE CRISIS, and FREQUENCY.....and have been rewarded heartily.
