BioWare envisions console-specific Dragon Age
It's no secret that BioWare's next big thing in the RPG world, Dragon Age, is coming to consoles at some point. Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, the dev's co-president, Greg Zeschuk, indicated that the game will receive the sort of "port plus" treatment Mass Effect did during its transition from 360 to PC.
"In the case [of Mass Effect on PC] we worked really hard to make it even better than the console version," Zeschuk told MTV, adding, "That's the approach we're taking with Dragon Age." Presumably he means in moving from PC to consoles. Zeschuk also noted that BioWare's mantra with regards to each patform's version of its games is "very definitive and very specific." With a console Dragon Age, one of BioWare's biggest tasks will be the reverse of what it did for Mass Effect on PC: taking a full-blown mouse and keyboard interface and making it play nicely with a controller.

I'm game. I have a good PC, but I'll wait for the console version. I have both versions (360 and PC) of Mass Effect and there's no comparison in that I enjoy the 360 version more on a bigger screen, with a controller, and a good surround sound system. Not to mention a couch ;-)
The PC version did refine the menus a bit, but I'm expecting improvements on 360 version of Mass Effect 2 anyways.

My TV is my PC monitor and I'm envisioning me playing on the far superior in all aspects PC.

I couldn't imagine ever playing Baldur's Gate on a TV. Dark Alliance was a mere beaten down shadow of the PC versions of Baldur's Gate, and if Bioware says there going back to their roots, this will be just like Neverwinter Nights and BG1/2, a CRPG all the way with a kick ass interface for m/k. It might look nice on the big screen, but with a toolset coming out with this as well with free downloadable modules, the PC version is a no brainer. Also, I can't see many 360 users getting into Dragon Age, I think the community, like Neverwinter, would rather play this type of game on PC. As a PC and Console gamer, I leave my consoles for Rock Band and LittleBigPlanet and Gears.
On another note, I played through ME on 360, beat it, sold it, and I'm enjoying it even more on my laptop with a mouse. The game's PC interface is so much better, aiming is better, and the mako controls so much more refined with the changes they made, not to mention using the mouse as a camera when in vehicle.

Agreed on the refinements made to ME on the PC. What bugs me is why there is still no patch for the 360 version. Surely they can fix SOME of them rather quickly.

If there the inventory system shows any signs of "planning ahead" I am going to be disappointed. The inventory system in Mass Effect, despite their efforts, stinks. It should be a dramatic improvement over Baldur's Gate and NWN, and then they can do whatever they need to to get it to work on the consoles later on.

I eagerly anticipate Dragon Age---for the 360 or PS3. PC? Not so much.

All I know is that Bioware has been known to give me orgasms.
