Shown for the first time at the company's Captivate 2008 event in June, Capcom's Wii-exclusive action title Spyborgs is undergoing some serious ... re-tooling. This news comes as little surprise, considering the game was a complete no-show at E3.
In an official forum post, Christian Svensson, Capcom's senior director of strategic planning & research, said, "You won't see new [Spyborgs] assets for several more months," adding, "We're refining it considerably (pretty much as significant an overhaul as Dark Void underwent from its first announcement to its first big reveal)." Hoping to quell fears that the game has outright stalled, Svensson assured that, "I have seen a new build recently though. It's coming along nicely."

I hope they change that stupid saturday morning cartoon aspect. People hate commercial interruptions on TV, why would we want it in a game? Also it just seems so cheesy.

I think the Saturday Morning Cartoon element is what makes it unique and the interactive fake ads seems like a fun idea. I hope they don't change those elements.

Amen. I think the commercials sound a little distracting but I just want them to make a solid game. If the joystiq fanboys don't like it then who cares. Give it to the REAL hardcore gamers who want to try something new and different.

And the parents always feel ripped off for having to buy the expansion pack...
My parents refused to buy it for me, you don't even know how many times I restarted Zelda only to turn it off in like an hour. Then again, I was 9 so I had fun for that 1 hour.
On topic again. This really is pretty ugly... coming from someone who doesnt have an HD console or nice computer.

Hey, if they publish a show reel of a game they told us was well in development, and tell us we should all be very excited about it then yeah, I think we're allowed to judge what they present. If it's in too fugly a state to be judged then what business do they have showing it off at all and telling us it's awsome. They should just come out and say "we invested too late - but at least we have something in the works". Then we could at least get our hopes up about their unknown project, rather than by and large be disappointed from the get-go.

By "significant overhaul" do they mean "actually making a good game instead of Michael Stouts time with this bullshit"? Seriously, the man designed the R&C series, then designed Resistance multi. This guy should be making a good Dead Rising/Lost Planet port, not this garbage

I would much prefer a new Breath of Fire (and the GBA release doesn't count). Heck, I'd even settle for an HD Remix XBLA release.

Glad to see Capcom actually bringing something original to the Wii as opposed to their usual porting of all of their previous games to make an easy profit (even if they're technically not developing it themselves). Not that I have anything against Okami, but rehashing the same old stuff will only take you so far.
Even happier to see this news as it shows some actual effort being put into making a good game. Hopefully more time with the game will result in more polish (especially in the visual department) and maybe even motion plus support.
