E3 awards: Fallout 3 = Best of Show; LittleBigPlanet = Best Console game

The top publisher was EA (just like in our own awards) with five wins, while Sony took second place with an impressive three wins. In terms of platform concentration, the Xbox 360 barely edged out the competition with eight wins versus both the PC and PS3's seven (for those of you keeping track, the Wii only managed one win and that was for its version of Madden 09). Wow, good call Shawn. You're a clever one. So, everywhere else in the post where there wasn't a typo ... those were the mistakes, but the typo in the headline, that was me showing my ignorance of PC gaming?
Because you obviously know if I've played the entire series or not? And you realize that I've played Fallout 3 (several times now) and was one of the judges in this year's Game Critics Awards? So smart!

But guys.. Animal Crossing City Folk! and Wii Music! and that snowboarding game with Carrot Top! And Wii motion plus! And more Wii Sports with a CUTE PUPPY!!!! and--and--and.. the charts! The charts about how much money they are making! Those were awesome!
Sure, Animal Crossing looks like the DS version with better graphics and an extra few shops, and sure Wii Music makes you look like you're two screws away from a full toolbox, and sure now that they are making a ton of money(this point made over and over by the endless amount of charts) off of Grandpa and Grandma, they don't need us "geeks" for making money, and sure Cammie Dunaway talked down to us patronizingly like children, and sure you have no where to store any of the WiiWare games you want to buy, but does that really matter? I mean, for goodness sakes, Wii Sports Resort has a PUPPY. Guaranteed 50+ million copies sold!... of course, that's in other countries. You won't be able to find it if you live in America because we prefer to sell elsewhere to make more money.
If you are one of those aforementioned geeks or otakus, or both(gasp!), and are for some reason not happy with virtual puppies(you sick fuck), you should just keep buying Mario Kart, even if you already own it. Just buy it over and over. The joy alone of buying a new Nintendo game is so great, it often can replace the need for antidepressants.

Of course, this presumes that these designations actually make sense. I'm not entirely comfortable with that assumption.

Having come from the future I can tell you that Fallout 4 is pretty good but no where as good as Kid Icarus for the Wii or BioShock 3. Also wait till you see Uwe Boll's "Halo Movie" that got nominated for an Oscar!

They just announced that they skipped Fallout 3 for Fallout 4 because this year game titles with 2 or 4 are million sellers to consumers. Game titles with "3" are forgotten... ergo lose money

Am I the only one not the least bit interested about Left 4 Dead? It just seems like another Half Life 2 port. Half Life 2 feels like Halo in that after a while, it feels like you are doing the same thing over and over again.

Half Life 2 did get repetitive, but overall the atmosphere and setting they created in the campaign definitely makes it one of the best FPS games of all time (if not the best IMO). It really felt like I was on the run.
Episode 2 definitely had the most variety out of the HL games.

interesting to see the absence of RE5 anywhere on this list...nice variety though. gametrailers, on the other hand, gave RE5 damn near every award concievable. They would've given it "best wii/ds/psp/ps2/64/snes game" if possible it seems. though i can't front, i love me some gametrailers, oh, and joystiq too of course :)

Hey Marty. In fairness he's only using 4Myfriends' catchphrase back at him (check his past posts). I think suggesting a company would BUY a reward is a bit more inflammatory - even if he *was* being sarcastic.

Not everyone likes LPB. And that's cool. Voicing your opinion on a public forum is also cool but, flames are expected with such an incendiary comment.
You do have a point though: people do go a little overboard when "the other side" get any kudos. The way I see it both 360 and PS3 got accolade for a pretty lack-lustre E3 so it's no big deal. These "awards" are always subjective anyway. Your best in show may not be the same as mine. They pique the interest but only a moron would get all bent out of shape because someone else voted on a game you didn't like.
