Final Fantasy XIII grace the Xbox 360. At a game exhibition in Taipei (via
GNN Gamer), Microsoft executive Grace Chou announced the Chinese territory would be getting the Xbox 360 version, although she said it was currently undecided which localized variant (i.e. Japanese voices, English voices or both) would be used. Also unclear is what other Asian countries, if any, would get the Xbox 360 version.
Our fingers are crossed that this news matters at all before the
Mayan-predicted "spiritual transformation" (read: potential apocalypse) of 2012. Seriously, this game isn't coming for
a long time.

I dunno why nobody cuts them a break, PS3 is losing so many exclusives, I know its somewhat warranted with Sony's massive failures, but still, let them have some games.
Would 360 owners be less bitchy if they lost exclusives to the PS3? Seems so doesn't it?

The general consensus seems to be when the PS3 loses an exclusive to the 360, they whine and bitch to no end and its fun to watch them whine and bitch on the internet.
When the 360 loses an exclusive, no biggie, since they've had time to enjoy the game, PS3 finally gets the leftovers, enjoy!

So many games are multiplat on both PS3 and 360, with the PS3 almost always getting the inferior version, with jaggies, mandatory installs, frame rate drops, etc.

Wasn't it last year they showed the FF13 trailer and at the end it said only for ps3 or something, so yea VS is pretty much confirmed for 360. That'll be next year's e3 heh. Didn't Square suspend dev work on that game anyway until 13 is done?

And the fact remains that the 360 deserves all these great games because its a great system with lots of people PLAYING them as opposed to watching Bluray movies.
Last but not least Bioshock going to the ps3 is definitely not on the same level as FFXIII. I don't know what drugs you're smoking but they clearly are working.
Bottom line is that the ps3 is the loser of this generation and you'll just have to accept that.
I hope and look forward to Versus being announced for the 360. Even if its a timed exclusive I really wono't care since we've got the main title already.

EliteBeatsAgent08, I have a 360 since everyone here knows multiple times my PS3's Blu-Ray drive broke, I've tolerated all of Sony's PR fuckups, delayed games, losing exclusives, etc, but I couldn't take bad build quality and went to 360.
Even then, I have a Falcon 360, luckily not the older RROD prone 360s.
If my 360 breaks as well, fuck it, I'm going back to PC gaming.

Japanese companies really need to change their developement cycles. They just take too long to make games. This game is like another Grand Tourismo. A full game takes half a decade to make. I bet there will be another Mass Effect before FFXIII comes out. A this rate you can expect Versus XIII on a nextgen platform.

I prefer my PS3 over my 360. However I'm still excited that this game is coming to both consoles and allowing more people to experience FF.
SE better get the ball rolling much faster or they are going to sour a fair amount of gamers. I am a graphics whore and think that PS3 exclusives like Drakes and MGS4 look far superior then any 360 exclusive. However there is going to come a time when (dare I say next gen) when games are so damn beautiful there won't be fist fights about this crap.
Each system has it's pros and cons. It takes a real gamer to accept that and enjoy each system no mater what (including the Wii).

What I don't get is, why are they even bothering keeping it exclusive in Japan. I mean, sure, there are very few 360s out in the wild, but I would think they would still turn some profit. Even though theres about 1/4 the amount 360 to ps3s "600k to 2mil" in the land of the rising sun. That still a bit to say no to 600k potential sales.
I'm not sure how much money they save for not producing a product in a certain territory, but seeing how the marketing for it wouldn't cost much more since any commercial for the ps3 version, could be commercials for the 360 version if you just add a little ALSO AVAILABLE sticker on it.

I'm actually at odds with this one. I have FFXII for the PS2, but I also used to play FFXI on the 360. I enjoyed FF on the 360 and I play my 360 WAY more than the PS3. But if FFXIII Versus is only on the PS3 than I have two supposedly tied stories on two different platforms...and somewhere deep inside that seems wrong.
All that to say I'm almost considering buying FFXIII for the PS3, just for the format continuity. At the same time, I care nothing for trophies on the PS3, but love achievements on the 360. Oh the humanity!

And FF12 is on PS2, yet the spinoff, Revenant Wings is on the Nintendo DS....

I hear you. I can't stand it when they take a console game and put a sequal on a portable system. First, I'd rather play a game on a console rather than a portable system. The gameplay is usually hindered, as well as graphics and audio. And of course the obvious screen size.
A few I can think of off-hand are God of War, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts. But, these game companies are usually motive driven by money and there's money in the portable market. Not to mention the game can be developed faster and for less money. The nerve of some companies!

Square Enix makes solid RPGs, and some of the best CGIs in the industry..and that was all on the previous generation of consoles. I'd love to see the full game running in 720p or 1080p along with those crazy CGIs.

Thing is, the PS2 had gained so many exclusives without paying last gen but all that the 360 has managed with a larger install base and a one-year launch is to snatch some of those exlcusives, and has to pay 50 million just to get add-on packs.
Where are the MS exlclusives? Bioshock, Saints Row, Condemned, Mass Effect soon to follow - every single game has gone multiplat while, remember, FF13 japan, FF13 versus, MGS4 are still PS3
And the 360 does NOT deserve any great games other than shooters because its a crappy, poorly designed PC substitute with lots of people prefer to play crap shooters over good games.
Ace combat 6 - barely sold 30-40% more than Lair despite much better reviews and a 3-4 times install base
Even great titles like Bioshock and Mass Effect barely sold 2 million copies - barely 10% of install base.
Lost Odyssey AND Blue Dragon combined sold barely 1 million
Ninja Gaiden 1 remake sales on 3 million PS3 base backj in 2007 = 2/3rd of sales of NEW Ninja Gaiden game on 360 with 18mn install base

Let me play Devil's advocate for one moment. Perhaps the reason that the PS3 has sold more of a single game, such as LAIR, is because the PS3 barely had any good exclusive games to begin with, whereas the 360 has had a glutony of popular titles (granted, that exclusivity is also diminishing). But, there's only so much money to go around. If you're a sole PS3 owner, you have the liberty to be more picky.
For the record, I like both systems. But I'll go on record as saying that if I'm a fanboy of one...it would be the 360.

Here's a quick history lesson: Taiwan became a province of China in 1887. Japan returned it to China after being defeated in WWII. It's still called the Republic of China today. Practically 99% of the people there are all ethnically Chinese, write in Chinese and speak Mandarin, a Chinese dialect. It's currently ruled by the Nationalists, a party that favors eventual political reunification with the mainland. It's still a Chinese territory no matter how you slice or dice it.
