PSP is only rising in sales over in Japan because of Monster Hunter supposedly. We'll see how that holds out in a few months

True, but I have a theory that all the casual non-game training shovelware that has flooded the DS also has something to do with it. I could be wrong of course, but I think it's interesting.

I hate how people whine about the amount of casual games on the DS (and Wii). It's not like your forced to buy them, and there are plenty of games for everyone. Seriously it is starting to annoy me.

Finally, more DS camera support!

Now I can experiment with makeup without looking like a total gaywad.

Not to add fuel to the DS vs PSP debate but some of the PSPs most advertised products over here are just like this one. Every day I see them pushing the clothes co-ordinator and stuff like it.
Still, if the DS had a GPS add-on like the PSP does I'd pick it up in a second. Some things aren't meant for games, doesn't mean they're worthless.

the psp is doing better not because of just monster hunter because of its like up in japan.dont downgrade something because one system is getting alot of shovelware on it.that the road Nintendo took with both ds and wii.this is the beginning of the portable war and we wont see an end anytime soon.remember psp got 3 more ff ,a pararsite eve,a great kingdom heart and the just release Phantasy Star Portable.

This so-called "portable war" exists only in the minds of game company CEOs and insecure fanboys. You accomplish nothing by coming here just to trot out an arbitrarily cobbled-together list of good PSP games when we have not questioned the existence of such games on the system. The above complaints regarding DS shovelware aren't connected to the way in which DS vs. PSP comparisons were invoked in this topic--available peripherals were being compared, not games.

I hate the fanboy PSP/DS wars. I feel like a hippie because I happen to like both. World peace and free love, man!

Come on SEGA, cut the crap!
Not asking for new IPs. At least port over great Saturn masterpieces like Astal or Clockwork Knight, possible on the DS.

I think the Japanese really get what the DS is all about -- having a variety of both games and non-games, thus making the DS a very versatile and unique. Yeah, you can play music and video on PSP, but there's so many devices out there that can play media better. Only on the DS can you find crazy stuff like Project Beauty. Granted, I'm not a girl, nor do I have a fascination with makeup, but the very fact that the DS is home to such interesting... applications is so cool. I can pretty much predict that Project Beauty will never hit the US, but honestly, if I was tied to a chair and had to play this game or *any* Imagine or Petz title, oh yeah, I'd be using my stylus to apply rouge in a hearbeat, haha. I think that while "casual gaming" is booming here, the US is just not ready to buy applications for a video game system, so very few "non-games" get localized -- unless it's done like Brain Age, which is a learning program (kinda) that pretends it's a game. Ah, DS, you perfectly blend a library of great games for both hardcore and "casual" gamers, as well as have things like Project Beauty to appeal to even non-gamers (Wii, you should take notes). Best system evar.
