Some humans destroy Destroy All Humans! PSP
It seems the folks in charge at THQ have decided to disappoint all humans who were anxiously awaiting the PSP outing of Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed. Though the three of you absolutely nobody will lament this particular cancellation, IGN reports that it was at least done for the right reasons. Said a THQ representative: "Basically, the PSP version was cancelled because of control issues."
With the game being designed specifically for the Wii, "the controls simply didn't translate well, and instead of pushing out the product with translated controls, it was cancelled." From the player's perspective, it sounds like it was the humane thing to do, but we wonder how many PSP games would be left if all developers adopted this particular stance on controls.

Did anyone even care about this? I didn't even know it was coming to PSP.

Any canceled game is a loss. Considering how thin my PSP's release list is looking, I'd be willing to play anything remotely half-fun.

I think this game had a lot of potential. I can imagine picking up my PSP for some destruction on the move.
JayVe @ Aug 5th 2008 9:35PM
There's seemingly nothing left to look forward to on my PSP. :(

Resistance: Retribution and Final Fantasy Agito 13? I mean, the pickings are slim, but those two look good.
Superstar90 @ Aug 5th 2008 9:53PM
Agito 13 will take a while... a long while.

N+, Force Unleashed, Yggdra Union, Valhalla Knights 2, Lego Batman, Mana Khemia, Star Ocean, & Spiderman have potential. It's anyone's guess as to how many turn out to be good, but that's true of anything.
While none of these may appeal to you personally, it doesn't mean there aren't games. They just aren't to your taste.

In order to still care about the franchise, wouldn't someone have to have cared about it in the first place?
Chase @ Aug 5th 2008 9:35PM
Did anyone even care about Big Willy Unleashed? The game, mind you. Err, the Destroy All Humans game.

I asked some ladies if they wanted to see my Big Willy Unleashed, and they just ran away. I don't know what got into them.
Jacksons @ Aug 5th 2008 9:44PM
I read the reviews on the Wii version, passed that up, wouldn't have bought this either. Probably a smart choice by them.
Link408 @ Aug 5th 2008 9:59PM
i played Big Willy Unleashed, i thought it was good, but way too short
FactCheck @ Aug 5th 2008 11:24PM
I think you may want to check the facts on this one... Big Willy Stile was in development for the PSP for a good deal of time before it got changed to the Wii... they switched this over to a Wii title to try and jump on the Wii train and passed the PSP version over to another studio...

I played Big Willy Unleashed (Wii) for a while and actually had a lot of fun with it. Mind you, I never played the earlier entries in the series, so maybe it didn't seem quite as tired for that reason.
Lord Maim @ Aug 11th 2008 11:54AM
I don't know what you guys are talking about. I loved this franchise.
