Wahlberg: Max Payne 'is my favourite role so far'
Boogie Nights' well-endowed Dirk Diggler? Nope. The Departed's wise-cracking Dignam? Uh-uh. Maybe Planet of the Ap ... yeah, not that one obviously. We're just wondering what Mark "y Mark" Wahlberg's favorite role has been in his brief, but illustrious, career. Turns out we don't need to guess, big Mark is here to tell us. Comparing his "out of control" childhood and the accompanying life lessons it provided in the latest issue of Total Film magazine with Max Payne's inner demons, Wahlberg says, "Maybe that's why this character is my favourite role so far."
Great, more data. So now you're tasked with weighing the various pieces of evidence at your disposal – he hasn't played the video game; the posters are great; he loves the role; Beau Bridges is in it – and making a snap judgment on a movie that isn't out yet. Quick! Does it suck? Is it going to be great? Citizen Kane or Max Payne, pick one!

I have a feeling this movie is going to suck the big one. I hope not, but I can hope in one hand and sh.....well, you know.
Mikeymike @ Aug 5th 2008 7:06PM
He will always be Marky mark to me
Kamizar @ Aug 5th 2008 7:07PM
He says that now, I wonder what he will say when he sees the box office returns...
Snap Count @ Aug 5th 2008 7:17PM
I'm pretty sure all he cares about is the big fat cheque in his bank account...
Kamizar @ Aug 5th 2008 7:22PM
If the movie does poorly it means he gets shitty low paying roles for awhile...
Plus 5% of 5 million is worse than 5% of 30 million...
OMGOMG @ Aug 5th 2008 7:08PM
Ah, those crazy non-Americans and their love of the "u".
Hyams @ Aug 5th 2008 7:28PM
Yeah, those damned English and their English language. Who do they think they are?
OMGOMG @ Aug 5th 2008 7:52PM
I know! Why don't they just be like us? The world would be a better place.
OMGOMG @ Aug 5th 2008 7:53PM
And Hyams, look at the scoreboard.
Double J @ Aug 5th 2008 8:07PM
We got rid of their U, but we're still stuck with stupid god damn silent letters and PH making the "F" sound. WE CREATED F FOR A REASON, USE IT, stupid phone.....
Hyams @ Aug 5th 2008 8:24PM
What scoreboard?
AwesomeTown @ Aug 5th 2008 9:32PM
Wait, since Wahlberg is from the US and doesn't use that crazy "u", shouldn't they quote him as such? I think so.
Zephiel @ Aug 6th 2008 12:21AM
@Double J
Don't hate the ph, Zefiel is so much less appealing ;)
juju187 @ Aug 5th 2008 7:14PM
i feel nothing but good vibrations....
Chase @ Aug 5th 2008 9:47PM
Enough about your sybian. What do you think of the movie?
Badger_badger_badger @ Aug 5th 2008 7:16PM
Hot off his amazing performance in "The Happening"... oh wait
Young_Nastyman @ Aug 5th 2008 7:31PM
all I have to say is this

first part
Young_Nastyman @ Aug 5th 2008 7:35PM
don't get me wrong, he's a great actor and I usually love his movies so I'm looking forward to seeing Max Payne as a gamer and a as a fan of his.
Young_Nastyman @ Aug 5th 2008 7:36PM
but his past shall forever haunt him
dead_ox @ Aug 5th 2008 7:33PM
I'm hopeful, but with a healthy dose of skepticism. Even if it's bad (good chance), it can't go back in time and make the games suck.
Blazur @ Aug 5th 2008 8:19PM
You guys can hate all you want, but I'm looking forward to this movie.
MuToiD_MaN @ Aug 5th 2008 8:42PM
I'll be looking forward to it just as long as that angel imagery is metaphorical...
snarfoogle @ Aug 5th 2008 9:48PM
I predict this movie will be so bad that Max Payne 3 will never be released. :(
mORTEN81 @ Aug 6th 2008 11:53AM
lol. I actually read your post thinking you meant a Max Payne 3 movie :D
me thinks that applies too.
BLee @ Aug 6th 2008 12:22AM
how can anyone trust anything he says to sell a movie?
This guy promoted the Happening..
Saria the Cat @ Aug 6th 2008 12:49AM
Not interested in seeing a movie related to a painful game experience, though the film will probably have nothing to do with the games anyway.
Saria the Cat @ Aug 6th 2008 12:50AM
I meant PAYNEFUL, har har!
tehvoid @ Aug 6th 2008 3:19AM
well, for most actors, that's always their last role that is their "favourite so far" lol
Ethan @ Aug 6th 2008 2:24PM
A bad music career isn't exactly comparable to inner demons.
