Dell selling Xbox 360 Elite bundle for $299 [update]

Update: The Elite deal has since expired. Pricing for the bundle is back up to $449. Sad ...

Here's an Xbox 360 deal for you. In an offer that ends sometime this evening, Dell.com (The U.S. website) is selling brand new Xbox 360 Elite bundles which include both Forza 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance as well as both Carbon and Hotrod faceplates all for (get this) $299! That's a $150 savings off the retail price! We aren't sure exactly why these Elite bundles are so darn cheap, but if we had to guess, it'd be because of a little price cutting event that'll be happening next month. Hurry! Go grab a $299 Xbox 360 Elite bundle over at Dell.com before they're gone!

Even after the price drop, the Elite will not be this cheap

but the price drop is suppose to coincide with the Jasper mobo.

Thats an awesome deal. If you don't have one, i think its worht getting. I doubt the rumored price cuts will drop the Elite to $299, especially not with 2 games included.

That is an awesome deal for you lot in the US that works out at £154 over here in the UK which is cheaper than what the Arcade sells here :D

This is probably just Dell liquidating last years holiday bundle to make storage space for whatever bundle they'll have this year. That or some poor intern got the Elite and Pro reduce price buttons mixed up! Either way, Dude I'm getting a dell (insert '360' or 'cancellation notice' here)!

the sad thing is, this is probably just a pricing mistake. Someone who puts in the prices was suppose to drop the 20 gig to $299 like all stores have, but instead they selected the 120 gig model. WHOOPS! I know dell.com had a similar problem with the 40 gig PS3 a month ago or so.

Most likely these orders will get cancelled, but man I sure hope I get mine! :-D

It's legit. I just did an online chat with a Dell sales representative (named Armand), and he confirmed that it's a brand new (not refurb) Elite bundle. I asked why the price was so low, and I just got the "this is the current promotional price" answer. Buy away!

Does anybody know for certain if this particular bundle (which was meant for Christmas '07) specifically had the Hard Drive Data Transfer Cable?

I'm gonna hate tracking one down just so I can transfer data from my 20GB to this one.

Someone on CAG talked to a Dell rep and they said all successful orders will be honored. It was not a mistake, just a limited time offer. I got mine.

i hope so because that woulda been a real disappointment if dell cancelled all orders...

i was all set to 'Jump In', even paid for it, but the deal must have ended just before i hit the 'Checkout' button. i called and cancelled, but the money is still out of my account.

do you think that they are actually sold out or do you think they just realized the mistake and pulled the deal? cause i would gladly add a 360 to my arsenal at that price (its the only system i dont have, console or handheld).

Seems like they've honored my order. Its still listed as being "in production."

Had I mulled it over for 20 more this afternoon, the special would have ended

i am now an xbox360 owner. thank you dell and please don't shatter my hopes by cancelling it.

now hopefully i'll be able to satiate my rpg needs between the 3 consoles now.

Deal is still good. The deal actually goes into effect AUG7th @ 7am central time.. I contact deal and they stated that this deal launched a day too soon.
