So, who's very excited (or surprised) by confirmation that Rockstar's go-anywhere, shoot-anyone crime caper is coming to the PC? Well, the folks at Rockstar, obviously. "We are very excited to be releasing the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV," said Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser. "The whole team is dedicated to bringing an amazing gaming experience to the PC. The game looks and plays beautifully on PC and we can't wait for people to play it."
People can expect to start playing Grand Theft Auto IV, along with its "newly expanded multiplayer" modes, on November 18th if they live in North America, and November 21st if they live in Europe.

Checkpoints, why put those in when you can start the mission over again halfway across town?

and BTW, i love GTA
irrational hate ftw!
It's not a horrible game.. Just did not deserve all the 10/10's it got. But if you want to go on "dates" with a handful of computer chicks and take them bowling, this is the game for you.
We already have those. They're called MMORPG's

Agreed
It's randomly(or not) running into the road and getting nailed by a car (even better if by accident) I'm not sure why but that never, ever gets old...

In this huge chase, 4 or 5 stars, car is about to explode so I prepare to bail on a steepish hill. I get out then a swat van pulls up, they get out, I figure it's all over (I'm ammoless), then BOOM!, out of nowhere a random cop car comes flying down the hill, airborne, full speed, and completely creams my attackers. They end up like 75ft away.
That's why IV (or rather all GTA's) are just something special, for the hilarious spontanuity of it all.

...but I hated all the other GTAs, too, so maybe I don't count.
I guess you can't really expect the media to change though - if Joystiq didn't write 100 articles a day about the same handful of games, they'd only update once or twice a day.
Have fun with Wii Music ;)

It looks like this will not be a "Games For Windows" title? I wonder if you'll be able to play online against 360 owners?

I thought it'd come out for PC later, sometime in 2009, eh.
At least for PC, no more freaking pop-in and also DLC up the ass, all the custom mods, cars, weapons, etc. from the modding community. XD

Actually, I don't think they plan on making the multiplayer and matchmaking (which they just made free a couple of weeks ago) a pay service ever again. We will likely have to pay for DLC, just like 360, but we get all of the sweetness of the LIVE service for free 'cuz we are on the PC.
