So, who's very excited (or surprised) by confirmation that Rockstar's go-anywhere, shoot-anyone crime caper is coming to the PC? Well, the folks at Rockstar, obviously. "We are very excited to be releasing the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV," said Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser. "The whole team is dedicated to bringing an amazing gaming experience to the PC. The game looks and plays beautifully on PC and we can't wait for people to play it."
People can expect to start playing Grand Theft Auto IV, along with its "newly expanded multiplayer" modes, on November 18th if they live in North America, and November 21st if they live in Europe.

Yay! I won't have to squint at low resolutions or deal with a cumbersome multiplayer interface anymore. I can't wait :D

I really wish there was a Mac OS X version planned as well.

I really wish they would adopt that Games for Windows branding on ALL pc games. That dvd rom logo is just butt ugly.

I uninstalled san andreas cos it was difficult to handle and took too much space, whats this game going to do?

What do you mean too difficult to handle? And as for space it was the same size as any game since last generation. To answer your question, if it can't run San Andreas... good luck for IV

It can handle San andreas with ease, but playing GTA on PC without a controller is like trying to ride a tricycle along a tight rope, while jugling flaming torches. And it did consume a lot of space I needed, with GTA4 being better and all, I'm wondering if it will be worse. (In my respect)

Have to disagree, the Console versions I've played have had far worse controls IMO to a Keyboard+Mouse. But everyone has different tastes.

I'd rather see Guild Wars 2 than another console port for the PC.

I hope it's Games For Windows branded so I can use my 360 controller.

Yep, Games for Windows - LIVE branded (on their site as of today)! So you can play it, and add gamerscore, achievements and chatting with your buds to the mix. Using your existing 360 profile.

Interesting... if it comes to Steam I'll grab it for my birthday! If not, I guess I'll just wait.

This news is, again, awesome! I would would like to see the enhancements that will be possible with a powerful PC + Modding community. Have you ever heard of Star Trek Bridge Commander? The mod community is still active on that and it was published in 2001 or 2002. The newest mods almost make it a new game, the graphics are nearly as good as the spaceship battles in the movies. Vice City was so much better on the PC than the PS2, and lots of cool mods. Really looking forward to this. BTW Games for Windows is horrible. Direct ports of Xbox games without any (advanced) PC features, the coding is quite literally translated for PC and boxed. Nothing added. If I wanted to play the Xbox I would buy one thank you.
