Speaking with Variety, Traveller's Tales president Jon Burton revealed that his company – which created LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones, and the upcoming LEGO Batman – is working on more block-tastic titles based on Warner Bros. IPs. "We've gotten started doing some LEGO games on the Warner IP," Burton confirms, stating that they are "down the line." That's games plural.
In the piece, Burton is also quoted as saying: "To be able to dabble around in CG and film would be interesting," and that, "Warner allows me to push in those directions without 'quitting the day job,' so to speak." We reckon that games based on movies are definitely one way to fulfill that interest, but which WB properties (other than the Caped Crusader) could be LEGO-worthy? We'd be interested in seeing how Traveller's Tales would tackle such anticipated Warner projects as Watchmen, Terminator Salvation, and Superman: Man of Steel. Let's just hope it passes on The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2. Which Warner flicks would you like to see LEGO-fied?

LEGO Harry Potter would seem to be the obvious choice, considering that's a A) kid-friendly B) Warner Bros. property with C) a large cast of playable characters that D) LEGO already makes toys for. Alas, EA owns the rights.

Warner Bros. Interactive has a history of working with other publishers. I don't see why they couldn't work with EA to do LEGO Harry Potter.

If done right, they could come up with some amazing concepts. Just off the top of my head, three classic Warner properties I could see myself playing: Lego Looney Tunes, Lego Wizard Of Oz, and Lego Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory.

Well, Lego "Matrix" seems like a bit of a natural, although it would play exactly like Lego Star Wars as far as using the force goes.
It's too bad WB doesn't have any goodd zombie films, as a Lego "Shaun of the Dead", "Night of the Living Dead", or "Army of Darkness" would be a lot of fun, if a bit mature for the typical Lego audience.

- Lego Kubrick (2001, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket)
- Lego Buffy The Vampire Slayer
- Lego Gremlins
- Lego Lethal Weapon
- Lego Mars Attacks!
- Lego Little Shop Of Horrors

Isn't this $49.99-a-pop worth of playable advertising? Pass.

I take it you've never played any of the Lego games? People like to write them off, but they are fun and well made, especially for fans of the movies.
As to your comment about "playable advertising", every movie that comes out now has a game to go along with it. You act as if this is something new and they weren't making E.T. games for the Atari 2600 or TMNT games for the NES. It's part of buying a property and basing a game around it and it happens all the time. At least Traveller's Tales has a very good track rating when it comes to their games in terms of not only sales but critical reception and variety of IPs chosen.

New Line Cinema is also a division of Warner Bros. LEGO The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy is certainly possible.

I thought so too, but didn't EA pretty much buy exclusive rights to make games based on the film versions at least? I know someone else said that it could be published by EA, but EA has been churning LOTR games out pretty consistently and I doubt they would let someone else touch it.

I was never a big fan of the Lego series. Sure, LEGOs are awesome. And sure, the stuff they turn into LEGOs are also pretty cool. But the gameplay mechanics always turn me off. I felt like I could stick my controller under one of those robot water drinking birds and beat the game in an hour.

Putting the controller under a running lawnmower will input the 99 Lives code.

Sorry, I don't know anyone that says "I like to build stuff out of LEGO." I think "All your LEGO are belong to me" would work, though. Not adding an "s" to LEGOs is...wrong.

Adding s to LEGO is almost exclusively a product of the USA.

I guess this LEGOs thing is an American tradition? I've never heard anyone in the UK add an s to it. Do you also refer to playing with Meccanos? (Do you even have Meccano?)
LEGO is the name of the company that makes a particular type of construction bricks. The singular is a LEGO brick and the plural is LEGO bricks. You play with LEGO.
