We were a bit concerned when
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (or
WAR, on the streets) had
its release date changed from the comfortingly specific "Sept. 23" to the vague and unsettling "Sept. 08." Little did we know, that change was just a chrysalis from which a new, just as specific but even
earlier date could emerge: Sept. 18.
EA would also like you to start referring to Sept. 18 as the "Day of Reckoning," and that's fine, if you want to help drum up some extra interest among friends or family. Just do us a favor and put the kibosh on that when you go out into public, OK?

My thoughts exactly. But more and more, the open beta sounds more like a server stress test more than anything.
But hell, we're still playing it before the general public, right? :D

If you scroll down the page you see:
"After August 15, 2008 visit the Mythic Entertainment Account Management website."

That... is a short open beta time frame.
I don't think it'll bomb, but I'm worried that this one won't do nearly as well as it could.
not just because of that, mind you

This looks ugly and stupid and boring. Why are people excited about it? Like, really? I want someone to explain it to me.

Warhammer fanboyism?

People are excited about this game so they can trash talk Blizzard/WoW. They dont conform to such popularity.......fight the power?
