Braid, put simply, is a gem. Not everyone will like Braid, but those that do like it will like it a lot. It's a beautiful game. Period. From it's visuals to its soundscape to its wonderfully clever puzzles, Braid is something that really should be experienced by anyone who considers him or herself to be a gamer. That said, 1200 points is a hefty price for an XBLA game. Chances are good that by the time you finish the trial version you will already have made up your mind one way or another. Frankly, we think Braid deserves all the love it can get.

I bought it more on the hype than the demo. Of course I didn't solve the demo world until after I bought the game (definitely liked the game a lot more after solving world 2, loved it after 4 and 5).
It's too bad the demo didn't include chapters from worlds 4 and 5. That'd negate a lot of the complaints being tossed around here.
My only complaint is that I think the character design is poor. It's just an opinion.
Hey Richard!! Or anyone else who has finished Braid!! How long is this game?!! I enjoyed the demo, but have been hearing it may only be 2-3 hours long. For a 3 hour game with no replay value, I am having a hard time justifying the (MS file-size priced?) $15. . . .
It depends on how quickly you can solve the puzzles, but it's probably 6 hours max. There is a speed run option. One of the achievements is actually finishing the entire game in 45 minutes.
You will need much longer than that the first time through, of course.
Thanks! I tend to take longer with most games, so I think I'll buy this one. I still have issue with the file-size-based pricing it appears MS is trying to roll out, but I enjoyed the demo and am looking forward to the rest of the game.
I played the demo of Braid on my friend's 360 last night and fell in love with it. The music, the art, the gameplay philosophy, everything. It's beautiful, it's daring, and it has more intelligence and heart on display in the first five minutes than most games do in their entirety. I WANT this game.
How much are those 360 arcades going to be again, and will they come with hard drives? I told myself I'd never buy a 360 again (since I have a PS3) but I might just have to do it for the Live Arcade titles.
