American PSN update for August 7th

Qore, blimey. What a large update. Oh wait, it's not actually that big, there are just a large amount of videos. Nothing tremenously exciting in terms of playable content, but a subscription to Qore will let you into the Resistance 2 beta (single issue purchase will grant late access). Don't forget to download the Home theme to get access to the beta. Here's the full release list:

Single issue Qore purchasers WILL be aloud to get in on the Resistance 2 beta, only at a LATER DATE than if you purchase the annual Subscription. Those purchasing the annual subscription get "Premier" status and early access to the beta.

MOAR Playable Content please Sony.

Well which would you rather? A sometimes slow release of playable content (even though we've gotten tons of great stuff in the past weeks) that is of consistently high quality, or a bunch of games guaranteed every week, even though most of them are rather poor (a la XBOX Live).

I think you need to rename "Playable Content" to "Interactive Content". Aside from the L2 gimmick, I'm not playing Qore.

At least there is some good RB content this week.

I'm pretty annoyed that we didn't get the final segment of the Bionic Commando BtS. Maybe it'll be out next week, but everyone who cares will be far too busy downloading the actual game.

I'm pretty Deadspace will be a first day buy for me, it and Fallout3 & will leave BioShock & R2 has Full week rentals, Can't afford all 4 if I could i would.

yeah, those are crazy calls. this happen to me twice now. i tried

Am I the only one here who thinks that graphically DC Universe looks like a ps2 game, or at least a release game?

You are not alone. I don't like the graphical look to the game which, considering how much I think Jim Lee is a GOD, pains me to say.

I don't know. I'm of the opinion that graphical fidelity in MMOs is never on par with "unMassive" games. This is because the graphics element is not the selling point however; it's the social interaction and leveling such games provide.

If a really stunning MMO game came out (and based in a universe I was at least somewhat familiar with like, say, the Forgotten Realms fantasy setting) I'd be all over that like a cheap suit. Until then, MMOs just don't attract me.

But I wish this game well. It does seem to be trying new things, especially the whole PC/PS3 aspect of it . Just (probably) not for me. Who knows, maybe I'll quit my job and have more time to be running around in tights (again).

I have the annual sub to Qore. I have decided that the thing is absolutely worthless. They feature 4 games a month and it is just video. The same kind of video you'd get for free if Qore wasn't around. Then today they announce that SOCOM people that preorder will get the beta a week early. Well crap, I guess we should all just do that instead of getting Qore.

They really need to make Qore worth paying for. It's only $25, so I'm not going to cry about it.

I subscribed to Qore today, and I'm scared to try and purchase July's Qore Episode (#2) and have to pay another ~$4.

Anyone know how the subscription works? Can I go back and get previous episodes?

hi sorry to change the topic here but i have some questions.

im in germany right now and im thinking of buying mgs4 for my american ps3(i live in south america) beacause all the ps3 games ae supposed to be region free however the box of mgs4 says that the game is region 2 ,that means it isn´t region free right ?,

and the other question is, if i buy an hdmi cable in europe will i be able to use it in americ

Hi Jean - welcome to PS3FB. HDMI is universal. MGS4 will also work on your PS3 back home in South America but there may be incompatibilities with DLC.

Considering the game in question I'd recommend picking it up in your home country, just in case.

Does anybody actually play Snakeball? Just curious. Not sure that a team gaming mode is what was missing from that game (perhaps the purpose of the game should have been examined in more depth).
